Can't believe I missed the Radiohead JD cover! Really great stuff. For many a year, JD weas my favorite band. For anyone who cares, Peter Hook is travelling again doing his JD covers with his band The Light, this trip it's the Closer album (last trip was Unknown Pleasures, and I had to miss it unfortunately). As "Decades" is one of my favorite songs ever, I am going to see them in Boston. http://www.songkick.com/artists/37055-peter-hook/calendar

Very Happy Birthday (hope it was, or that you're still celebrating it!)

^^^ This. We installed a battery backup for ours a year after it was in. Haven't needed it thankfully but a good investment!

Good news! May it keep getting better and better.

^^ Ditto. Seeing slower sustained winds in North Andover, with gusts so far (I'm guessing) only in the high 20's to low 30's maybe..... Some reports of folks in town, along Rt 114 towards Middleton, have lost power. Just talked with my mom in Marblehead, she's more worried about her neighbors' trees. She's not close to the shore, but has had occasional water issues. Stay safe, all!

Sorry to hear this, hope it gets resolved easily enough, with minimal hassle. I had my CC # stolen, I THINK from Tiger Direct. I always used PayPal with them, and one time I used my card. Next thing I know, I get a call from the CC company (they have been quite good to me), with two charges to Tiger Direct. They instantly credited me, and I also called Tiger Direct; they stupidly gave me the ship-to address (from what i learned later, they're not supposed to do that), and I told them they may want to hold/return/cancel the shipment. The sad part is, even with an address, I called my local police and the police in the CA jurisdiction, and no one seemed to want to do anything.....too much of a hassle.....

Happy Birthday!

These are the "IBM Horses" down in Las Calinas (sp?) Texas, correct? They've held up so well, I was last down there in the late 80's and they looked great then....

I echo jvlgato's wishes, hoping for the best on all accounts, from parents to tires to tired kids. Today, did some back-to-school shopping for my son, as well as some nice clothes for the upcoming Bar-Mitzvah "season" for his friends. Also am helping someone who had her computer attacked by some ugly malware. Infested enough system files that it barely boots up and many things don't run properly. Have recovered her data, think I'll just re-install OS and core apps for her....she's glad I saved the data, HER son's Bar-Mitzvah is in two weeks!

Went to a somewhat nearby shop (www.healthybuffalo.com) and stacked up on what I call alterna-meats: - Buffalo burger patties and hot dogs - Elk patties - Venison medallions - Kangaroo, ground and medallions - Buffalo jerky - Wild boar sausage Think that covered it....keeps the carnivore in me quite happy. Going to do Kangaroo medallions in a vidalia onion and fig sauce tonight (wife and son may do cow). May include some Six Grapes Port after the meal if the wife will join me.

Holy shite, that's just gorgeous! That is a beautiful way to spend the birthday, glad you got to spend it such a way. My wife and I went to Bar Harbor.Acadia National Park recently, some gorgeous sites up there as well....

Sorry to hear about your mom, Dusty....hope it gets better!

Great stuff Vicki....best wishes to your dad. Done the same data recovery, too, even done the old scan the drive that was stupidly re-formatted..... Me tonight: went to see The Fools, old Boston-area band, at a nice outdoor venue in Ipswich, MA. Couldn't actually SEE the band for most of it; the lawn in front of them curved downward! But caught glimpses, and got to remember a bunch of songs. Last time I saw them: 1985!!

This.....in spades

Some mighty odd words I would not normally expect to hear.....but dang if you're not right! I also love those Keens too; have a very similar pair, several years worn; this may inspire me to get a new pair....

At Borders' going out of biz sale, picked up Blu-Ray's of Dark City (Director's cut, no idea how it's different) and Kick-Ass @ 50% off. Also several books, a nice hardcover bargain (25% off of "regular" price of $7.99) coffee table book chock full 'o' neat Pink Floyd pics and stories, and some greeting cards for my sweetie. Topped it all off with a nice Ahi Tuna Salad at Not Your Average Joe's restaurant.

^^^ I'm getting old! Half these bands I don't know..... I also didn't know that MJK had joined A Perfect Ciurcle again, good stuff. Enjoy it! Regarding funny band names, though, I had an old book from late 70's, called "Volume: A Complete Discography of the New Wave" Had some great band names, like NASA and the Sputniks, and one of my favorites of all time: B.O. Smellie and the Honking Bacteria.

That is awesome, I used to love the old Creature Double Features - every Saturday morning, WLVI Channel 56 (Boston) I imagine the MST3K treatment is superb! I got my Stax SR-003's today, in anticipation of Spritzer's SRM-Xh arriving likely next week.....
