And now what did you do TODAY?
Did the Mother's Day celebration with my in-laws who were up for my wife's Bat-Mitzvah, we all went (with my niece on my wife's side) to a very nice brunch in Cambridge, MA. Then dropped off the in-laws at the airport, and off a bit to the North End of BostonFinally, home and dinner (fresh homemade pasta for wife and son, sliced Hot Sopresatta and cheese for me....yummage). It was a very nice day, except for one part where I slightly pissed off my wife. Almost 17 years of marriage, and I'm still not fully trained.....

Rubicon Atomic AD/DA Preamp
I'm sure it's better science, but this sounds too much like Ruthenium, a la Ultrasone.....

We tried the Jetta as well, drives nicely but felt a bit cheap inside. Wife ended up with a Passat wagon instead. But if the MPG is paramount, it's still a nice car at a better price

Whisk[e]y-Case
I second the Macallan. I had some a couple weeks ago, was very good. Talisker has been my favorite, so think the Macallan would be a safe/good recommend.....

But not good enough.....Rangers were outright lucky on that one, Ward goes from hero against Bruins to goat in this game....Caps are just amazing me in general with their play, though..... Will it go to 7?? For pure entertainment, I hope so!

And now what did you do TODAY?
Sorry to hear, Haj. Good luck on the exam grading Shelly & Jim. We had a nice day today, volunteered at our Temple for "Mitzvah Day." We helped with a free Senior Luncheon, very rewarding and some wonderful people and stories. And lots of take-home leftovers, for the attendees and volunteers alike. Then watched the LA Kings close out the St. Louis Blues in their series. Like both teams, so bummed one had to lose, but LA is looking pretty dang good right now. Off to catch the other game soon....

I think the other passengers were looking at you in pity that you had no cheez spread..... I remember once coming back from San Francisco with Lotus Seed Cakes from Chinatown in my carry-on. ALMOST got them confiscated as the filling is thick but not completely solid. I think they let me through when I offered to eat them They were well worth it.....

Adam Yauch (MCA) dead at 48...
Sad news, I especially admired the work he did for Tibet and other charities. RIP.....

And now what did you do TODAY?
Hope eyes and bikes and bugs' asses get better.... I had a real nice afternoon/evening. Price-Waterhouse Coopers hosted a party for my company at Smith and Wollensky's in Boston, to celebrate outr partial reorganization as a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) Organization - PWC helped us a lot along the way. All people involved with that project were invited, and this little IT peon was mentioned twice by the CFO. On top of that, Macallan 18 (yum) and Woodford Reserve (not bad at all, haven't had decent bourbon in eons) were free at the bar, lobster tails/claws and other shellfish were plentiful in one of the buffet tables, and some wonderful and interesting people were met and shared some good time. Even got to see some silly drunk Accountants

Have to agree....in the past, if Boston was knocked out, I tended to watch other games sporadically, and usually watched all the games for the finals. But this year, many of these series have been just great to watch, for many different reasons..... And to top it all off, Slapshot was on one of the oddball cable stations here last night, unedited. "Everybody's on their feet, yelling 'Kill! Kill! KilL!' THIS...IS....HOCKEY!"

HO....LEE.....SHIT What a game by both Caps and Rangers! Had to stay up for it.......sad to see a team lose that one, I thought the Caps would just win it due to Rangers being too tired, but Gaborik nails his first goal in a big way.....

Scary shit, Al, and sorry you had to face it. Glad it turned out (relatively) OK. Wishing you and your dad my best as well.....

Jazz recommendations please
Echo the MOG and also the Dave Brubeck Take Five recommendations. If you like piano, Bill Evans is a great possibility. A little more "personality" IMO than Keith Jarrett, though I happen to like him too. Some of the Swedish Jazz I've found quite lively and fun, even the old audiophile standby Jazz At The Pawnshop. I picked up a couple Arne Domnerus (he played on JatP) albums, and although it's been a while, they still are pretty good.

Do they make Holtby ones yet? Seriously, whatever one you'd like....bummer that they lost on a kind of cheap goal, Knuble basically ran into Thomas; but hats off to the Caps, they just stifled the Bruins when it counted, and then scrapped when it counted more.... And yeah, it was unbelievable how quiet it got when they scored.....eerie..... Not sure who to cheer for next. I was thinking the Rangers, but seeing all the oddities in the West, may go for Nashville or St. Louis.... Out of all the teams left, only Philly is the one I don't really want to go all the way, and even then i can't say I dislike them like I did Vancouver and Pittsburgh...... Oh, well. I'll enjoy the taste of last year, and the rest of this year's playoffs. Dan, I'll contact you in PM to follow up.
