How To Put Together a "How To"?
skullguise replied to The Monkey's topic in GoRedwings19's Computer Help Hotline
Probably more work than you want to do, but I've done training videos in the past using screen macro recorders to show my mouse and click actions, then used somethign like Audacity to record a voice narrative. I used paid-for software to combine the audio and video, but I'm sure there are freebies out there...... -
I had ventured 2 weekends ago to a kind of nearby "alterna-meat" store, www.healthybuffalo.com, and stocked up on a bunch of things. I finally cooked up some of the Wild Boar bacon I bought, and I'd say it was the best bacon I've had! Better flavor than any other I've tried, and probably less hormones, et al. As bacon goes (and sausage too), definitely recommend trying it.

Happy Birthday! Hope you have no documents to write up, a lack of colds in the family, a great day, and maybe even some "me" time!

Try calling the reservations number. I've been reading up online and the pilicies suck for passengers' rights. But if you can get someone on the phone to change your ticket to a flight tomorrow, it's worth a shot.... Another thing to check is with your credit card company (if you paid for the tix thru that). Some of them offer built-in travel insurance when you buy with their card, maybe there's a possibility there. I really can't believe that - despite the airlines' RIGHT not to refund - that they wouldn't do ANYTHING to try and help. Very bad publicity if they don't even try and change the flights.... Start out reasonable if you can, only esclaate to supervisors if you can't get anywhere, and good luck!

Nate, great pic! Can't believe how big she is. Crappy, good luck with trip, enjoy whatever you can out of it!

Happy Birthday!

Lucky man, Haj. But now you need to get her something nice! Nate, good luck up there, just be safe. It wasn't HORRIBLE here, but bad enough, and moreso because people forget how to drive when they haven't experienced snow for a while......

Cowby Junkies - The Caution Horses. Had an old videotape of the Jay Leno (Tonight Show) where he holds up their CD to introduce them, calling it The Cautious Horses. Woops.....

Apparently the folks in our town did call and complain. The superintendent sent out an email regarding the weather. He was well-spoken and defended his position articulately, and backed it up with statistics of buses that made it and only one minor accident (not involving a bus) with no injurues. That said, he wasn't there this morning, and now when I just went and picked up my son. Those people walking past the buses that line up in front of the building were going through much more snow & slush than the kids getting on a bus, crossing streets narrowed by snow on the sides and parked cars blocking the view of cars driving in the road. On top of that, there were many slips (and one minor fender bumper 2 cars in front me me) on the road. Our middle school is on a hill, and some people stopped at the light had a pretty tough time starting up the hill when the light turned green. I'm glad they got the school day in, but the potential for some injuries, especially to the kids, was there. The DPW supposedly reassured the superintendent that things would be clear for the schools getting out, but it just didn't look like it to me..... Rant off....maybe I'll cut and paste this as a reply to his letter......

And the city of Houston parks in front of Shelly's door! Congrats on getting some liquid sanity back

You said it Steve....and I'm a bit pissed now, too. Our town's roads are just so-so, with the (long-predicted) snow for today adding up quickly. It made getting my son to school and back a slow, sometimes dangerous affair. I saw some sliding, and at two different major intersections, backed up traffic had cars sitting in the middle as lights changed. Also, at the school itslef, the sidewalks and pathways were building up quickly as well. We were almost nailed last year with snow days slipping into spring/summer activities, so I sometimes understand the hesitancy to cancel; but I think our superintendent made a mistake on this one. I imagine he'll be getting some irate calls......

Best healing wishes to all not feeling well.....I like Mikey's Home Remedy too.

We actually didn't get hit hard from round one (more to come). But, school NOT closed in our town. Oddly, running down the highway from us, 3 towns closed, then 3 not, then 2 more closed..... With more snow expected, a little worried about a messy pickup for the kids, I guess they feel they have a jump on it.

Figured one of us MA locals would bring this back. Came home early today, it was a wasted effort to leave early but allowed me to get things done in peace and quiet. So far (as of 6pm EST), very little if any accumulation on roads, all melting. Expect that to change at night. My son is hoping, praying, begging some unknown deity for no school tomorrow.

I've enjoyed the Dayton Tripath amp, a bit more power than the Lepai's. Single input, but I've used it with a switchbox before. http://www.amazon.com/Dayton-DTA-100a-Class-T-Digital-Amplifier/dp/B004JK8BDK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1330556250&sr=8-3

Watched mostly reruns of The Monkeys, and one of my High School friends - a huge fan - just recently started putting a bunch of posts related to them on FB. A little weird, considering it had been years since we chatted about them.... RIP, and yes, thanks for the memories!

Shelleyan Orphan - We Have Everything We Need. This quirky art-pop group reunited in mid-2000's for this album, didn't even know it existed until this year. Been listening a lot recently, growing on me quite a bit. Carolyn Crawley's voice is frail and strong all at once....

Hope you feel better. Good enough to put in a nice reference from Cheech and Chong, so hopefully on the upswing!

Congrats on the Niagara trip, well deserved after yopur PITA assistant and subsequent extra hard work! If you have time, head up to the Canadian side, to a nice town called Niagara on the Lake. Some wineries there, and a cute little downtown for shopping. My wife and I did a 5-day trip there, and I always joke that we need a good stereo store or music store wherever we vacation. Well, first road we stopped on (I think Victoria Ave).....stereo store RIGHT where I parked! But a great place to visit, quite charming.

Thanks, Larry, I'll look further into the dock with my iPhone 4. Never tried it, but they said it didn't recognize his iPhone 4 (IE, "not found" type of error versus "not designed for this device").....

Met up briefly with Nate to deliver something he bought from me....about a year ago Each of us forgot it, or then just had a lot of trouble getting schedules aligned. Then ended up working on a new machine for my son, the old one had motherboard and optical drive issues. New one is spiffy, he'll be a happy minecraft camper. Finally, took back the DLo Homedock HD, sadly neither I nor the nice couple I gave it to realized it doesn't work with the iPhone....
