  1. Another option is to ask Sean @ skiingninja.com, he used to work at AV123 (and left on his own to start his upgrade shop). He might know of a replacement tweeter..... [email protected]
  2. Good on the MA's Shelly! As far as the Swan's go, yeah they USED to be ordered thru AV123 (I ordered some, back when all they had otherwise were their Perpetual Technologies DAC), but that was when they were "good." Swan's actually dropped them (don't think it was vice-versa), then AV123 looked to build their own; that's when they got in trouble, and then tried to recover $ in rather ugly creative ways.
  3. Happy Birthday!
  4. Yeah, sounds a bit like what Chord did with their buffering/re-processing of the digital signal with one of their DAC's. The more interesting potential to me is the Holm Acoustics SW, and what that does.....that sounds like a big part of the selling point for this.
  5. Wow, what a life indeed! "I don't always row my boat, but when I do, I prefer to cross oceans" He just may be....the most interesting man in the world......
  6. ^^^ Unless, of course, you're avoiding it by being on Head-Case
  7. I saw you on at around 3:30 Haj, was up myself at that time! I was able to get back down until almost 8:30, though. Good luck to you (and family) today. Miguel: congrats on 20! I'm also doing some work today, not for straight $ but will get some comp time.....thankfully won;t be for 3 days. Hope you get some breathing time Nate.
  8. Happy Birthday!
  9. Hope you enjoyed your lunch, afternoon, dinner, drinks, etc.
  10. Very nice, congrats!....environmental law, huh? You mean lawyers can actually do NICE things? (Sorry Al and Dinny)
  11. Happy Birthday Steve!!!
  12. Happy Birthday!!
  13. Any word of what is on the Master Tapes? Would be neat to see NOS music I was a huge JD fan in my college days and beyond......
  14. Phew....for a second, I read the title and thought this place was going soft!
  15. Cardas is a cable brand/maker I respect, have heard and liked several of the designs in the past. But yeah, not worth the money..... Once I get my M51, the trusy Vince Vaughn Audio XLR's will be back in duty!
  16. Congrats on 5! Keep them numbers rolling.....slowly
  17. Very Happy Birthday!
  18. Nate, my son may be getting this stomach thing, too. Hoping we all feel better soon!
  19. Is it me, or does the "Jumpsuits for men" guy look like a Satanic David Hasselhoff?
  20. ^^ Regret at its finest! I didn't love much of her music, but absolutely adored the quality of her voice. I do seem to recall a few videos/interviews where she sang some Gospel, and it was amazing.
  21. Good healing to all who are sick, and congrats on the bike Vicki, saw the pic in the other thread too. Me: going to volunteer with family today at another Bone Marrow registration drive for the Gift Of Life. Our son helped coordinate and run two for his Bar Mitzvah project, and we had a table AT his Bar Mitzvah, where we got 17 new registrations (which is almost 50% of the eligible people who came!).
  22. Looks like a great time! Love those amps on Frank Cooter's table! And glad you got to try the Scotch......very happy to share with those who will appreciate it more than I could. BTW, Mikey looks a lot "cleaner" now than in that Classmates picture
  23. I think 24/192 is a nice to have, at least given the amount of music MOST people likely have in that format. I have two albums in 24/192, nothing else better than 24/96. I copied some hi-rez to a computer I have that has a cheap Diamond sound card that does up to 24/192 out on coax. Using KS or ASIO, they DID sound damn nice. Getting a nice sound card that offers this is a possibility (for laptops, not sure if there is a cardbus or PCMCIA card that does this). It's one more piece in the chain, but I'd also consider a USB->S/PDIF converter that handles 24/192, and not limit the DAC's I seek otherwise.
