  1. Hope wedding went well, Dan.....! Last night, my friend Steve (living on West coast) came into town, we and a couple others we haven't seen in a few years went to a nice place with outdoor seating called the Lobster Shanty in Salem MA. Another HS friend was doing a partially-unplugged music set at the place; good food, drinks, music, and friends. Today, Steve and I go music shopping, a pasttime we've done so many times in years past; and tonight is our 30th HS reunion..... A great weekend so far, looking forward to more of the same.
  2. ^^^ Wow, and that's not even Japan!
  3. ^^ Next time mix that cheese with some bacon, and all will be well..... Glad today is getting to be better than yesterday.
  4. A lot of things rely on the generosity of friends and strangers....but it's nice to see the generosity happening..... Me: just paid a plumber to replace my dead and leaking water heater. I should have checked the age, thought it was maybe 7-8 years old, but it was over 11! Time flies.......
  5. Happy Birthday!
  6. Happy Birthday Birgir!!
  7. Happy Birthday Marshall!
  8. RIP.....I'll miss his Matlock suits.....
  9. Happy Belated!
  10. I'm wondering if any mention of them in a reputable e-mag, especially comparing them favorably to Beats, would cause Monster to wield the mighty legal hammer of injustice.....too much "look and feel" for their liking. Maybe not, considering how many of that ilk are out there, but one never knows.... As much as it would be poetic justice to give props to a company that does style AND sound right, it does also give me puzzling thoughts in general.... But then, it's sold through Amazon, so it has some reputable backing to it on the surface. So I just don't know. I waffle like a campaigning politician!
  11. Happy Belated.... Hope it was a blast!
  12. HOPEFULLY someone else's..... But kind of an odd way to spend a day, life then death.....sorry to hear of the funeral
  13. Happy Birthday!
  14. Good luck to Adam, loved him as a player, and he got some nice remarks from Parise in regards to NJ......
  15. Happy Birthday!!
  16. Congrats on all accomplishments Adrian. And second the good wishes on a better feeling neck, Haj.....
  17. Been there and past, Dinny. I loved the days when my sister would ask for help, but still try to impress me with her technical acumen: "I think my hard drive needs more RAM"
  18. Yes, very nice table; how comfy is that chair, looks quite funky! Me: replaced my mother's computer, family tech guy strikes again. Now to see if her old one will take Windows 7.....
  19. I still prefer general honesty; maybe just hold back on some facts (like the amount of years since using Java), but never oversell. Having been interviewing lots of people over the past weeks, I am constantly finding examples of falsely upgraded resumes with work they have little or no clue about when pressed. We went through the hassle/work to get a contractor in, and within a week knew he wouldn't work out. It was almost like a different person landed in our office compared to the one who interviewed. Definitely brush up on the latest, but IMO never oversell yourself without being confident you can do the work. Everyone will be happier in the end. Once established in a company, opportunities should come. And good luck!
  20. Happy Birthday!
  21. Had to all but give my my Father's Day for me and didn't get to see my dad; drove to NY and NJ for a wedding that was on Sunday. Was an incredible wedding, though, bride and groom both great looking and wonderful kids, and party was big $ but extremely tasteful. Not the best way to spend the day, buit it's great to be at such nice events.....
  22. Congrats Dinny! Happy 8th and many many more!
  23. Congrats on the close! How much work do you think you'll need to do in the 2 weeks?
  24. Some good, father-son, father-son times there Al, congrats on the special times and great games to boot!
  25. Deepak, he mentioned the Shure 1840'snot the 840's.....you've heard the 1840's? By your note "it's been a while since I have heard those" I thought you might mean the 840's. FWIW, I like the 600's better than the 840's, had both; but haven't heard the 1840's..... EDIT: beat me to it.......
