  1. What a great pic of your dad, Al, the smile says it all! Glad to hear he's so up and about, looking quite awesome at 90!
  2. Truly sucks, give them hell and make them suffer. At my old company, I swear someone read the "Inhumane MBA Manual of Layoffs Without Costs" to get rid of some folks before they did some outsourcing. There seemed to be a minimum number of people that got a 2 (out of 5) on their annual reviews. A 2 means sub-par, and there's no bonus, no raise, and they are put on "plan" (from which they will never come off). A fair amount of folks left in dusgust, or got pushed out for not coming off plan. Later, they did a formal layoff with severance and transition plans, but for those early ones it was the most horrible treatment I've seen in my 25+ years in corporate life.....I can think of only one person who was possibly a level 2 for their review....
  3. It certainly stains more than White Wine Audio.....
  4. Happy Belated!!
  5. (Yesterday) We grumbled in the a.m. as my son's soccer game was NOT cancelled despite continuing rain and forecasts of thunder-showers. Travelled 45 minutes to the lovely town of Manchester, MA. Watched the end of the previous game, realized it WASN'T raining so hard there and the field was turf. RIGHT at the end of their game, the rain came down REAL hard, torrential. With both teams on the field, totally soaked, the ref calls the game due to weather Ended up making the best of it, found a nice little diner for breakfast, drove over to the beach and watched the waves from inside the car, then went to a mall. Came home, watched Forrest Gump on DVR, and just made a simple and fun eve of it. Today: weather cleared up a bit, though rain may continue in spotty segments. We'll head up towards the NH seacoast, maybe check out Hampton Beach and the boardwalk area there....
  6. Very Happy Birthday Miguel! Al, love the cake, Google is certainly YOUR friend

  12. Nice to hear all the good goings-on....... Another Bar-Mitzvah party for us today, twins in my son's class, and we know the folks; he is a local newsman, off the anchor desk for some time though. Service this morning, party later tonight. Then BBQ's the rest of the weekend! Going to break out my Buffalo Kielbasa methinks.....yum

  19. Didn't really like the music, but thought she was beautiful and talented....agree with what Al said, too many "names" dropping recently RIP.
  20. Haj, it indeed breaks our hearts as parents when we see kids hurt or in pain. I wish her well, and even if she may look bad, I'm sure she'll be acting as if it never happened soon enough. Kids seem to be amazing like that.....
  21. I fondly remember the semi-automatic beetle my dad gave my brother. When I was 15, he used to drive that to the place we both worked. Clutchless shifting FTW!
  22. Happy Birthday!
  23. Good luck to Hunter. Despised him as a player, respected him for what he did with the Caps. I almost think they needed a kind of hard transition from what Boudreau was doing, just to shake things up a bit. I think Hunter brought in the hard work ethic, and they can now adapt a little more and find the best balance. With that next step in coaching, Holtby and some good goaltending coaching, they should be pretty amazing for the next few years.....
  24. Did the Mother's Day celebration with my in-laws who were up for my wife's Bat-Mitzvah, we all went (with my niece on my wife's side) to a very nice brunch in Cambridge, MA. Then dropped off the in-laws at the airport, and off a bit to the North End of BostonFinally, home and dinner (fresh homemade pasta for wife and son, sliced Hot Sopresatta and cheese for me....yummage). It was a very nice day, except for one part where I slightly pissed off my wife. Almost 17 years of marriage, and I'm still not fully trained.....
  25. I'm sure it's better science, but this sounds too much like Ruthenium, a la Ultrasone.....
