Just got this in my email. I'm super-thrilled, and SO proud of my son who helped organize this! Gift of Life is a bone-marrow registry organization. --------------------------------------- Dear Gift of Life Volunteer, On May 22, 2011 you helped facilitate a donor drive in North Andover at Bar Mitzvah Drive- North Andover Sheep Shearing event. We are thrilled to inform you that a donor recruited at that drive has just been identified as a match for a 67 year old woman suffering from Acute Myelogenous Leukemia . Sincerely, Your friends at Gift of Life ------------------------------------- I hope this works out.....!

^^ Hope the process works! Belated good luck to CJ, belated feel better - or glad you're feeling better - to Haj. I played the good hubby the last few, and have picked up 4 gifts, 3 cards, one REALLY nice flower arrangement, and dinner reservations at a place near the water for my wife's birthday tomorrow....

Happy Birthday to the one that makes us tick!!

Glad things are working out now, Shelly! And that possum is indeed cute. New pet?

Bizarre stuff....but indeed if no damage done, then yes, a stroke of luck! But to do a little bitching and moaning, and keep the (relative) bad luck vibe going, I just found out a gent we interviewed for contracting help was not budget-approved. So we're already 1-2 resources low, with even our existing projects stressing our time, and now we can't bring on more help. On top of that, a very important corporate (CEO level visibility) project just came out of left field that would suck up a good 5-6 weeks of my time. Really.....? My management can't plan for shit......they think we can just shuffle a bit here, push back a bit there, and all will be done, and be done well.

Yeesh, does not sound like fun.... I swear there's some kind of cycle going on where people have good things and bad things happen in masses.....here's hoping for that good swing!

Nice obit, thanks for the post. RIP Sally.....

^^^ yeah, not clicking there.....longer just might not be better..... Dusty, how was the first day? I went to work today, and used - once again - my line when anyone asks me how I am: I'm-tired-I'm-irritable-I-work-for-a-living-and-I-haven't-won-the-lottery.....how are YOU?

Sorry to hear the numbers are looking like that Shelly..... Good stories on kitty survival, hope for the best for yours Dusty. We had a cat (Rambo Bose Kitty on Head-Fi, real name SOTA) who peaked at > 31lbs. We always thought he'd have diabetes and/or kidney issues, but he actually passed away from Melanoma, apparently VERY rare in cats. We even offered to donate his body to science, but the disease was so rare nobody wanted it to study......

That does suck, sorry to hear it Shelly. Hope it gets resolved soon and with not much difficulty.... I would have said a lot more in reaction.....

Coming in late to the latest updates, was on vacation. Sorry to hear of the difficulties, Jacob. Work this one out, with or without counseling, and you've made great steps as a couple to be ABLE to work things out in the future. Yes, the stress will get to both of you, Karen and I had our ugly outbursts leading up to the wedding, and also when we first moved in together. We're still far from perfect, but we can talk things out and know ultimately our hearts are only for each other..... As for other rambling, I liked Valerie Bertinelli best, but still liked Mackenzie Phillips too.

Woo-Hoo!!! Awesome news, Congrats!

He played such an array of roles, also watched him since the MN days..... RIP

A long but wonderful weekend. Mentioned the Friday night affair, Saturday with my friend Steve was fun, relived old times music shopping. Got a bunch of older stuff that I didn't have copies of, as well as a couple new things from Loreena McKennitt and PiL. Last night's reunion was amazing! Our class (1982) always seems to have great turnouts, and there were folks at the 30th who I haven't seen since either the 5th, or even since HS. Lots of laughs, lots of hugs, one "I love you" (!), and just a damned good time, despite having to drink Jim Beam. A little tired today, sent off Steve to his next adventure, and then brought my son up to his overnight camp where he's spend the next 2 weeks. Time to rest, read, and then BBQ......

Hope wedding went well, Dan.....! Last night, my friend Steve (living on West coast) came into town, we and a couple others we haven't seen in a few years went to a nice place with outdoor seating called the Lobster Shanty in Salem MA. Another HS friend was doing a partially-unplugged music set at the place; good food, drinks, music, and friends. Today, Steve and I go music shopping, a pasttime we've done so many times in years past; and tonight is our 30th HS reunion..... A great weekend so far, looking forward to more of the same.
