Good luck Dusty! Hopefully a good match. Happy Belated Larry, sounds like a great day! And sorry to hear of the forgotten SD card, CJ. But at least you got to see the sunrise, yes? Was it at least worth that?

I saw/heard some of this today, pretty interesting!

Happy Birthday Adam! Hope you are out enjoying instead of reading this now.....

Keep me/us updated, Nate....I can still drive down, we can discuss logistics if you think that things can still work out and you want/need the ride. Last spring, I left my house around 5:30am, got there in plenty of time and had a ball; and I stayed at a hotel overnight, coming back fairly early Sunday. I have extended family there (Oyster Bay), but knowing I wasn't going to see them much at all, decided not to freeload....

At this stage, price seems to be the best thing going for it as a player, if it brings the expected audio quality. For me, still interested if the music store can deliver the quantity of music, for a decent price (and on a thought, will it have any kind of DRM embedded?). Ultimately, we'll see if it can compete with things like itunes and the venerable i-devices for much larger audience outside the audiophile circle.

Very happy Birthday!

Of course, it's also an alternative to the Geek Out AMR has Thorsten Loesch in the fold, he is quite the lunatic (in a good way IMO). I used to like his Thunderstone Audio email list/group..... -
Yup....when he sat around the house, he sat AROUND the house.... But he was an awesome cat. SOTA Moonbeam....a.k.a. The Rambo Bose Kitty

Looks great, Jack, enjoy! And I like the pup stairs to the bed.....we almost got those for our overweight cat (peaked at 31.6 lbs, but still managed to jump on our bed).

Some great prices! Love some of the descriptions, too.... It's nice to have someone with a passion owning/running the store. My local guy just sold his store to some others. He warned me the new owners don't know their whisk(e)y as well....I always was pleased with his recommendations, so i'll miss that.

Sorry to hear, Jon, and echo the good luck wishes..... -
I had one of those, bought (of course!) on a whim. Nice little units, I got mine at a $499 special as well. Well worth it at that price....if you can use it.......

Make that (web translated): Vengono a bussare alla nostra porta... Hmmmm, doesn't seem to inspire the jingle...... -
^^^ That. Good luck, sorry you have to even go through the hassle......

Thanks for the bump, Gene. And good luck and thank you too Raffy. Donation just processed.

Happy Prelated Nate! Looks like the latest snow should be south of you, so maybe a good sign.....
-
Warm wishes for you and your wife Iain! Stay safe..... Always think of the movie Slapshot and the song "A Little Bit South Of Saskatoon" whenever I hear that city's name.

Agreed with the above, wouldn't bother with the 812. And yeah, Massdrop is pretty cool, got some A-T W1000x's there for $399. Another semi-stupid whim purchase, though the phones are easy enough to drive and fairly musical if not accurate. They seem to sell a lot of vaporizers at Massdrop as well

Granted that the name Ted Smith (the designer) is a common type of name, but I had seen his name before.....back in the 80's, associated with Wang Lab's. I worked there, and his name was in the "archives" in regards to some products. His white paper confirms he worked at Wang, on one of their early office automation products. Some good minds there back in the day...... Anyway, interesting stuff, much of it above my head. Would like to hear others' input (Filburt?).....

RIP.....an incredible talent lost.... My son's guitar teacher, who was originally from Portugal, I think had played with PDL....he at least knew him (and same with Andres Segovia)
