  1. RIP Polly, remember her from "To Tell The Truth" more than anything else (original Cape Fear, too).
  2. I could potentially try that out, Jack, I have both. Unfortunately, probably can't get to it for several days.....a bunch of evening plans, plus it means reconfiguring two systems. I have tried the BD with Doug's prototype USB DAC and with the Auralic Vega (using it now with the latter, Auralic balanced out to KGSS, S/E out to BD).
  3. I can attest to the great pairing of the Black Diamond (I have a green acrylic-case model from the NY 2014 Spring meet) and HD-800's.....I still listen to Stax the most, but that's my go-to setup at home for dynamics.
  4. Yay! Space for more kids..... Big congrats to you all.
  5. In as well. Good luck and thanks to Karen!
  6. Medeski Scofield Martin & Wood - Juice. Always like these guys for a fun listen, don't do it enough.
  7. Esben and the Witch - A New Nature. Interesting so far. Bit gloomy and edgy.
  8. Very Happy Birthday!
  9. Happy Birthday Deepak!
  10. ^^^ I still love the aquarium....think that's something I'll never outgrow.....sounds like a nice time. And they aren't related. All the other kids that were there friends, not family. Just realized that I need to talk to him more about sexting now, though We did that last year when he got his Smartphone, but not since.....
  11. RIP funky man.....
  12. Went to my twin niece's & nephew's B'Nail Mitzvah's yesterday, very nice to see some extended family. Got lots of updates, and "lowdates" on an uncle not in good health, and some nasty family in-fighting with some not-seen-often relatives. Sad..... My son was chatting with me as we picked up the car, he says, "Dad....don't tell this to mom....I got a girl's phone number at the party...." Apparently she was one of the cuter girls according to Andrew (I don't know who she is/was), but they'd been texting a bit even while at the party. Unfortunately, she's in the town where my sister lives, a good 45+ minutes away. Andrew has had more "friends" who are girls in the last couple years, but this seems to be the first real interest. And so it starts.....!
  13. That's the POS Leben
  14. Happy Birthday!
  15. Wayne, good question/thought. Looking at IMDB, his work seemed to go up and down, skipping several years at times.... Sometimes an actor benefits from the "defining" role..... RIP Richard.....
  16. Various selections from Die Antwoord albums. Ever since Stretch mentioned meeting them on an airplane, I've had them as one of my guilty pleasures.....

  18. This is perfectly clear to me....we've been listening to the music in the wrong era! I bet if I time-traveled back to 1842, but brought my portable player and phones/IEM's with me, I would have an out of the head non-localized effect.
  19. Just found an amp to use......it can drive the Fifth Element speakers I'm sure.....
  20. Since neither Spritzer nor Grawk is from Boston, I'd say it isn't.....I'm from the Boston area, and have tried to be diplomatic. Again, it's about the social aspect of the forum, as alluded to above. If you come in and proclaim superiority without spending time to get to know folks here, and get to BE known, this is what happens. I still personally believe you'd have a lot to offer, but you're coming in a bit like the proverbial bull in a china shop. And your offensive replies tend to imply that your skin is not as thick as you say.... So stay or go, with all good wishes. But if you do stay, please think hard about how you come in and present yourself, no matter what your knowledge and experience.
  21. I saw a headline that she was off life support, thought it was good news.... RIP to a true one of a kind
  22. Craigslist too, Dusty. I see used office furniture dealers in my local one a fair amount. Was thinking of getting my son a nice desk and chair for his room.....(saw a gorgeous dark cherry desk, good size, nice drawer space, and good build quality, for under $200).
  23. Nice, Larry, good to be able to replace cheaply enough....sounds like the family that needs good insurance
  24. ^^^ Used to love those, but this one was perhaps the funniest. Once, after a trip to Japan, I myself had stomach issues. I got these small chewy, bad-tasting pellets at the airport, they were magical! Never saw things like it here....it looked like small BB-sized pellets of black hash.....
