its a great dap. but the idiotic UI kills it altogether. i would rather listen to a slightly inferior sq with a better UI, after all the idea of portable is convenience

guys, i keep reading about the price for c32 here or @HF and all the scattered info over the internet. all im getting is the speculation that the price is $4-6k. and it's still @prototype stage. my questions are: 1. is the price an indication directly from stax or just pure speculation ? 2. when will be the final product to be released in japan ? and the rest of the world ? thanks

thanks birgir.....guess i would leave it as it is. its not annoying enough for me to take such a drastic measure. i bought the headphone used from one of the HC/HF "celebrity", in absolutely mint condition......and warranty is already over i guess and thanks to ken too for cutting me some slack again

was just told by my audiophile friend whom borrowed my stats setup - kgss + o2mk2 that during low level listening sometimes a very faint static appear. Try it myself today and yes, it does randomly appear. Only on low level listening and the static was very faint and very short but still my ear can catch it.....anyone knows whats wrong ?? thanks

honestly folks, how many % people like us constitute to overall market of headphones/dap player market? 1? 2? or 5% max ? These product are aimed for mass market out there. its whole different world out there and like it or not we are the geeks of headphone. everyone @hf and especially here most likely been told by friends/families something like : wtf ?!!!! u spend $XXX to buy this stupid earphone ? how much more different can it make ?? i dont see that much of different for sure !! well, for me 60% to 95% (ibud to jh13/16) do make a difference. 95 - 100 is already moot

To further comment Brent post above, with BBM due to delivered/read things, I've got friends/customers/family starting asking me why i didnt reply to their BBM when it showed read at their screen. Sometimes I thought WTFFFFF, I'm fucking driving 100mph on the fucking highway and you expect me to reply ur message I really wish BB did not incorporate Read/Delivered flag on their BBM, may sounds cool but at the end of the day its more like a intrusion to your life

you guys are correct.....since i cannot edit my post now, fwir, 580=600. thanks for explanation. i think im going to buy it and make it as alternate dynamic setup. perhaps i should tone down my euphoria a bit as there's no way this thing can match to o2. but its a fun headphone to listen to casually, sing along with it. i believe one could find lots of drawbacks vs stats if look really deep.

Recently I borrowed HD580 (NOS) from my friend. I hook it up to the meager Glite and Pico DAC. The more I listen to it, the more I prefer it to my KGSS/O2 Mk2+Stello. I have to admit that I'm the stat mafia ever since I left dynamic. I have HF2 which is gathering dust now, I sold my K701 but this is something I absolutely can live with albeit not as great as stats...... Does anyone here thinks that these measly HD580 is up to notch with the big boys ? Or my taste in SQ has taken a step backwards? I mean as of now and switching back between the O2, there's not way of differences there. :palm: Edit : I used to borrow HD650 from the same guy. boring. didn't like it. Is there that much of differences between the two ? I thought they're supposedly the same driver?

Me neither Pete. Myself I dont even understanding what is imaging. Thing is some people start to claim that imaging of hd800 is (for lack of better word) better than O2 and kept insisting that this (and soundstaging) are the advantage over O2. For me, this is like saying a Civic is better than a BMW 5 series since Civic have better looking remote control. The only instance this imaging thing is useful (if my understanding of what imaging is correct) is when you listen to classical music. Any other genre, this trait is useless

Same here. you wont get the truthful answer. the truthful answer is what you believe. for me, i dont give a shit about imaging. whats good of imaging if there's lack of clarity, roll off bass/treble, muddy bass/mid ? IMHO, screw the imaging, this is the last trait i look for in a good headphone.....and i'm very sure that the imaging of something like o2 is already up to standard. lets compare clarity of o2 vs hd800, i can bet that hd800 cant even hold a candle against o2

What do you guys think the SQ on lower end DAC (ESI Nano/Gamma 1/Ordnance DAC/Go Vibe DAC fed by losless from computer vs a direct play using CD from a standard issue DVD player ($100 or lower price) ? Which is better in your opinion ? My take is on this lower end DAC, DVD player playing CD is better.....
