i have the qnap ts-509 pro... i bought it as most reviews have it as faster than even their new models... & it's easy to upgrade provided you choose a cpu that's compatible with the chipset used (& the hsf clearance has to be adhered to)...the memory can be upgraded to 4GB for ~$70 but it will only see ~3.3GB of that... anyways...love mine...have 5 x 1.5TB samsungs in there in RAID5 (started out in 6, but felt silly)...the thing runs ubuntu & has a vga port...just plug in a usb keyboard & have at it...

& it has a newer, 45nm cpu to boot...i'd still take the oppo, but that's kinda nice...

with the high frequency noise & the white 3GS turning brown from overheating, i'd expect a firmware update to adjust the power management (& conveniently kill ultrasn0w unlocking) shortly... but first Apple has to acknowledge the problem...i'd be very wary of the 30 day return/cancellation policy if i had bought the 3GS the day it came out... maybe i'm being alarmist...

shazam, midomi, facebook, bejeweled 2, fring etc are all pretty popular... but there are a lot of apps for jailbroken iPhones like winterboard, backgrounder, ispoof, iblacklist, clearcam etc that add functionality... then there's the app that makes the other apps free...if that's your thing...

or if jailbroken there's an app where you just slide your thumb across the top of the screen and it lets you turn on/off wifi/3g at the touch of a button...

nice... i think i'm going to give up on ordering online after reading about all the seemingly random shipping delays & just wait 'til payday...local apple store is sold out, walmart hadn't heard of the new phone(!) and i'm not keen on the at&t store...best buy it is... got my replacement otter box with bumper sticker...the unlock of my 3g is still fine (although i did have 3g go in & out a bit at first) & now i'm trying to track down a motorola endeavor as apparently it's awesome...
