^^you probably could've had good drink for months with the trade value of the 50/50 you were drinking:)... i know i'll crack...it's made it worse that when i mentioned pliny on untappd, a local brewery worker mentioned that i should share haha...so i'm gonna try to give my last pliny & blind pig to him...which gives me even less to drink tonight!... i think i'm gonna go back to the hidden beer shop that i bought the 120 at & buy the rest of their stock...& another '07 behemoth for a future five year vertical tasting:)...

meh... don't blame the guys really...much like when i was disappointed two episodes ago by them not finding the subaru/cosworth offering to be all that, i was let down tonight by their take on the rs5... nothing wrong with amber heard...but, watching her lap, there didn't seem to be much wrong with her driving either...all this about fast looks slow is kinda crap...pretty obvious you have to take risks on that track... hitting the car was great:)...but then guy being lit on fire ruined it...don't need to be reminded of staged accidents... all in all, though, i got my eye candy & they didn't waste a buncha time with tallying scores... hope they have a glorious special soon:)...

^^i agree...i'm frustrated that panny didn't fully implement the tech last year, but for the price of a Kuro you could get some serious plasma real estate that's nearly as good...there's always a sale somewhere...might wanna check panasonic's epp, slickdeals, high def junkies...

besides which, Captain EO isn't even on blu-ray yet ...

sure you can turn 3d off & just enjoy the 2d...so it's like a bonus...i just wouldn't buy a tv whose main selling point is the 3d tech...& as far as the best 2d being in 3d sets, well, the best 2d is still Kuro...if panny had fully implemented the tech from the Pioneer engineers they hired away, wouldn't you expect performance to be a bit closer?...maybe the VT30'll be a different story...maybe... on the lcd side, i still say most tech is going backwards...lg & vizio seem to be the only ones set on keeping models with the things i mentioned (ips panel, full array local dimming led backlighting) & having 3d capability... as to why you want 3d right now...well...reduced refresh rates when it's active...reduced viewing angle...reduced resolution...losing/breaking/misplacing the $150/pair glasses...the noticeable flicker from those glasses...headaches...buying hdmi 1.4 gear just in time for the next change in standard...all to get the experience of 3d in movies that weren't even shot in 3d:)...

doesn't come anywhere near my Kuro...& i'm not meaning to be a snob...when there's anything that's substantially better than the Kuro i'll be eager to buy it... only other tv in the running when i got mine was the samsung 8500...some people don't like the ultra-realism the high refresh rates create...it always looks like a movie or commercial that's being shot...they call it the soap opera effect which is a term i don't like because there is no vaseline on the lens look... lcd tech is actually going backwards in an attempt to get slimmer & slimmer...edge lit is garbage...you want full array local dimming led with an ips panel...so, basically, you're stuck with the highest end model lg or going back to plasma...panny's the best, samsung is close behind...problem is neither is anywhere near a Kuro (& that's quantifiable by measuring black level) & the panny has the built in black level rise still...so it's only going to get worse over time... it is a good time to buy...even better in a couple months...& if anyone asks me (& they often do) i suggest viewing the full array led backlit lcds like the lg or vizio...if they don't like 'em, then i suggest looking at plasmas with one pane of glass (AR filter built in)...bad time to get into 3d so i advise them against that...

disregard new pioneer elite gear...both the new blu-ray players & the new Elite (blasphemy) LCDs are re-branded sharps... I'll have a look at the VT30, but I wasn't impressed with the VT25...

kinda let down really...still glad I didn't watch the emmys...

can't wait for Simon Pegg/Nick Frost...getting antsy...
