  1. ^^that's what I was going to suggest...apparently, it's amazeballs... hi-fi world called the s370 the bargain of the century & the s570's basically the same player but with wi-fi capability...
  2. Here is a nice write up detailing what is known thus far... my friend Grant is trying to continue his vertical: nice...
  3. finally found some Two Brothers Cane & Ebel Red Rye Ale from a fresh batch...glad they have best by dates on their bottles...worth the $14/sixer price tag...
  4. wow...bottle selection's even more impressive than what's on tap (although i'd have that mikkeller koppi--was good in bottle form)...feel free to mail me the Juliet, Lolita & Madam Rose:)...oh & that Raspy 12!...definitely the Raspy 12...I really like Lost Abbey Red Poppy, but that's a bit steep...it's cheaper online... happy b-day:)...have a great one...
  5. allegedly the brewpubs are being left alone untouched...the theory is they bought Goose in order to be able to self-distribute in Illinois...in Illinois, if you own a brewery, you can self-distribute...so they overpaid for GI in order to save shitloads in the long run...they can continue to charge the same distributor mark up...this way they get two of the three price jacks before the beer reaches consumers...& they can also undercut their competitors...
  6. I'm drinking this: Goose Island Big John...which, from what I gather, uses the same base as the Night Stalker but instead of dry hopping it they chuck in Cacao nibs...
  7. teefury...
  8. Who's the Caboose with Sarah Silverman, David Cross, Marc Maron etc....
  9. ^^nice... I was able to order one bottle of this online...I should've ordered more...I found it to be quite enjoyable, but the friends I was hanging out with didn't seem to have an opinion of it one way or another...go figure... anyways...Victory Hop Wallop on tap...Brugge Harvey on tap...which is their Pooka but using Blackberries instead of Boysenberries...Jolly Pumpkin Baudelaire Series iO Saison from a 750mL bottle...lotta dry hibiscus flavor...& uh Surly Furious from a can...excellent stuff as always from Surly...& a great smell... oh, & I was finally able to buy another Upland Cherry Lambic so I was able to drink a 750mL of it on my own w/o having to break up my set...& I got a free pint when I bought it...so also had an Upland Maibock somewhere in there:)...
  10. before I even began tv shopping seriously, I decided that 50" was just right for me...not financially or ergonomically speaking...I just felt most engaged with the 50" sets & they seemed to have the best picture (compared to other sizes within their respective product lines)...I came to find out that the 50" Kuro Elite Signature has a better picture than the 60" due to pixel spacing...sure, I couldn't afford or fit the 60" anyways...& the 6020 was the only 60" Kuro I could view in person...but it was all the more confirmation that what was registering in my mind was true & quantifiable... I'm not so sure I could pick a PQ winner between 50" & 55" plasma models...I also sometimes think 52" is the sweetspot...but there's simply no comparison between a quality 50" plasma & a 52" LCD....bottom line, you'll always wonder...I even wonder about the new Runco models...but 50" plasmas are king...enjoy it...get some full widescreen 1.78? aspect ratio blu-rays & burn that mother in...
  11. Founders Newaygo County Cherry...a tap-only beer...it's the Bourbon barrel aged version of their Cerise...lucky find:)...
  12. the start of a new season of Dr. Who in HD....huzzah...
  13. every year on the night before Dark Lord Day, Flossmoor Station (makers of Hi-Fi Rye & Killer Kapowski) throw a party...it's for those that didn't get tickets & those that want to further increase their risk of alcohol poisoning by attending both events... strangely, Flossmoor's Brewmaster has just stepped down...hmmm...anyways... here are some details: I'll try to post more DLD stuff after work & errands today...cheers....
  14. have that growler of Gumballhead still:)...& just opened a growler of Sun King/FFF 3 Kings...the Indy tapping for it was a MESS...decided to grab & go...
  15. they have the 20 for $139.99 & the 23 for $349.99 heh...greedy bastards...called a store i knew was out just so i'd know what prices should be...they said $117.99 & $299.99...
  16. was coffee...soon to be some form of soda... a semi-local liquor store tweeted the above...tempting...should see if the other stores received shipments...
  17. New Albanian Elsa Von Horizon Imperial Pilsner...my favorite bottling of theirs so far...altough, bottles of their Solidarity Porter should be just 'round the corner...it's a damn good beer...
  18. I'm doing this for my own amusement...but if anyone else wants to add info/pics they should feel free to do so... also, most of this is being taken from Three Floyds themselves, Hoosier Beer Geek &/or Beer News...if interested, I can provide you with the many twitter accounts associated with those three groups... to summarize...this pic: first indicated that there would be Brandy Barrel Aged Vanilla Bean Dark Lord at this year's Dark Lord Day... then this pic: on Chicago's MetroMix page suggested that it'd be available in bottles... & now Beers News posted this story where they report having spoken with Lincoln Anderson from Three Floyds who's said that 666 might be a bit high as far as how many bottles to expect... Anderson read off some breweries that will have beers there on tap but this is, by no means, a complete tap list: The Bruery Pizza Port Dogfish Head Founders Schlafly Victory Goose Island Furthermore a bunch of Indiana breweries (there may even be an Indiana “section”) & if you want hear from Barnaby Struve (Vice President of FFF) talk about the event, check this interview out from HBG.... so that should get the ball rolling...i'll probably post some more related links & perhaps some gossip/hearsay/conjecture before zero hour...
  19. i'm drunk just thinking about it...i'm probably going to miss out on a lotta pics by accidentally selecting the video option on my iPhone... The Bruery Pizza Port Dogfish Head Founders Schlafly Victory Goose Island Furthermore a bunch of Indiana breweries (there may even be an Indiana “section”) that's in addition to the crazy shit FFF themselves'll put on...& they're still adding to that list...
  20. Sun King Landmark Wit, Flat12 Puppet Show Pale, Three Floyds Rabbid Rabbit...ordered a growler of Three Floyds Gumballhead... Avery has pulled out of Indiana (add 'em to the list)...& Mishawaka Brewing is no more... thinking about making a Dark Lord Day thread...mainly for Mike & me...most exciting news so far is Brandy Barrel Vanilla Bean Dark Lord on tap & possibly in bottles as part of a lottery...
  21. found a place that ships Cigar City beer...so...lots of Cigar City beer:)...
  22. Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout...this time from a bottle...managed to up it to 29 bottles so that gave me enough to have a case to possibly trade for a whale at DLD, a couple to mail & a couple/few to consume:)...
  23. 2Bros North-Wind then Tyranena Dirty Old Man Imperial Rye Porter Aged in Rye Whiskey Barrels...part of their Brewers Gone Wild! series of big, bold, ballsy beers...heh...pleasant but not challenging...i'm a sucker for rye, but i probably won't bother with this after the 4-pack...
  24. Sun King Maibock...better than anticipated (not keen on the style)...& a couple New Albanian Beak's Best...sort of in between an ESB & an American Mild...
  25. i'm at that bar again that gets great beer & serves it in the wrong size/style of glass... 22oz New Belgium Lips of Faith Le Terroir anyone?... A sour beer barrel-aged for two years and then dry-hopped with Amarillo and Cascade hops for 8 days...yum...
