  1. shitty, shitty day so I'll be brief... I did LOF Kick & La Folie back to back & it didn't feel like La Folie was dissolving my taste buds this time...but I still don't pick up anything interesting in it...not to say it isn't good, and not to say every good beer has to be complex, but it was kind of boring & at points was a chore to drink...one of my friends says it used to be better...maybe I'll try to source an older vintage...this as '10... Kick is wearing on me a bit...I still say drink it...but don't stock up on it for the season & expect to love it every time...a unique seasonal--a citrus wallop...get some... Guinness Black Lager...a new Guinness?...had to try it...now I've tried it...it's dreadful... Sun King Oktoberfest...great when fresh...really diggin' it...but $16 for a 4-pack of 16oz cans?...no thanks...looks like they're using the same can for all their special seasonals & just slappin' different stickers on there...no reason for it to be that expensive less than a mile from the brewery... Sierra Nevada Ovila Saison (not Ovila Dubbel)...another in the series of collabs with The Abbey of New Clairvaux...nothing amazing, but, like the Dubbel, solid, not that expensive, presents well...recommended... more this weekend...
  2. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/09/08/manning-undergoes-cervical-fusion-surgery-out-2-3-months/ Peyton had the 2nd neck surgery earlier today...
  3. a fifth 2TB drive so that I can replace the five 1.5TB drives in my NAS....I have it connected to my OPPO which is connected to my Kuro which is connected to the pleasure center in my brain...
  4. so, Vicki....who are you going to drop to pick up Sanchez?...
  5. Colts made it official...no Manning week one...
  6. Indy offered everything they could, even adding a chicane last minute...it was entirely michelin's fault...they knew ahead of time about Indy's diamond ground track & they chose not to do the proper testing... I wasn't fond of the track that was designed (I still think it needs elevation changes), but the whole disastrous six cars racing had nothing to do with Indy...I was at the race... also, the Hulman-George family ain't hurting for money lol...it wasn't so much a financial issue as much as it was bernie trying to dick tony george around & tony not being in the position in which he needed to take any shit...the 500 & Brickyard both draw more people & money than any f1 race...they simply replaced it w/a motorcycle race... I'm still an f1 fan, obviously...but I think it's safe to say after watching what happened with Korea, Silverstone, Bahrain etc etc that bernie isn't comfortable unless he's callin' all the shots...
  7. still have to manually enter tags in mobile safari when posting...
  8. 3WM Hoosier Beer Geek Double Brown...
  9. Bell's The Oracle DIPA....proper...
  10. New Holland Pilgrim's Dole Wheatwine...last shipped in '09 so I know it's at least that old...their page says they're planning on re-releasing it...I'm up for that:)...
  11. cool...I think Jinx Proof sixers went on sale today... thanks...
  12. do they still have Lord Admiral Nelson on tap &/or in bombers?...none of it's made it to Indy...this is of great concern to me....
  13. ^^niiice...99° here...hoping to find something decent after work...
  14. I'm the odd man out that likes Le Terroir more than La Folie...LF was just too sour for me to pick up notes I like to look(taste) for... also, LF is ~$18 here whereas most of the others are ~$8... I will revisit it soon, though...it sounds stupid...well, I sound stupid BUT my tongue seems to cope with extreme sours better after my tongue's been sore & regenerated the taste buds... & now, thanks to google, I know that it's called innervation: http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview/id/197930.html anywho...I'll pick up a bottle:)...
  15. Flying Dog Gonzo Imperial Porter...one of the better brews they do, but not amazing... Rogue XS Old Crustacean 2008...not bad:)...impressive bottle...it's like weightlifting...
  16. I was planning on going...was a season ticket holder when the race was here...glad they incorporated elevation changes into the Austin circuit...I think that was something Indy was lacking that could've made all the difference... I need to find out what the best places to sit are before I try to get tix...& I can't say with any degree of certainty that I'll be able to take the time off... I'll watch this thread with interest:)...
  17. It's new:)... Stone 15th Anniversary Escondidian Imperial Black IPA....their jab at the new naming sytem...I'm in the minority here..I prefer Cascadian Dark to calling something a Black India Pale Ale... in either case, though, this is a great example of the style:)...
  18. New Belgium Lips of Faith Clutch...Dark Sour Ale...collab with the band of the same name... not nearly as good as Kick...buy Kick:)...or go back in the series...
  19. New Belgium Lips of Faith Kick... 75% ale brewed with pumpkin & cranberry juice...25% ale aged in wooden barrels...a collaboration with Elysian(Dick)... I think it's very good & preferable to most (but not all) of the other fall seasonals...
  20. something this rookie didn't realize until halfway into the draft...the scoresheet that espn provided that was both handy & dandy used projected points...at first, I thought it was using last season's points... this explains half of my bad choices...i'm still working on the other half...
  21. i now hate every aspect of my life...thanks, guys... oh & thanks go to Jeff for organizing:)...
  22. is Chris Johnson even draftable at this point on espn?...
  23. couple beers I probably should've saved for a gathering...but I was tired of having 'em in my apartment... Sun King Johan...at the time of it's release it was the only canned barley wine in the world as well as the most expensive (retail) canned beer...it was already aged for a couple years before it was canned... HalfAcre Marty Stouffer's Wild America...got this in trade & have aged it for months...I'd have to research to find out when it was bottled... anyways, in this battle of the barleys, Johan wins handily...it's delectably rich--hint of citrus but that's it...more like a fig... Wild America just lacks oomph...no bite...but it's one of those beers that just seems like the brewers are close to something...I really want to try this on tap, but I'm not sure if that's going to be possible...
  24. last of my Clown Shoes beers...Tramp Stamp...
  25. New Belgium Ranger, Fat Tire, Belgo & Hoptober...was a sale on the Folly 12-pack...
