Happy Birthday, deepak! Have a great day, and a multitude of more to follow.
-
Allagash ... especially any of their one off, barrel aged stuff. Have a great time, and it goes without saying that me=jealous. @ Mike ... yes, jp needs to forget all this RMAF/HF crap and focus on life's more important pleasures - GABFFTMFW.

Damn, Al ... your right wrist? Isn't that the one you drop the tone arm with? The one you roll dice with? The one you polish ... At least you got the garage cleaned up. Next time, as Nate says, call the east coast travel and destruction team to lend a hand. I do believe medical technology has come a long way, though, and hopefully you can be made better than new.

You know, I've never done any HDR, but would be fun to try, and I agree that those shots would be good ones to do. I've just seen so much bad HDR (ie: overdone to the point of being a bit unreal), that I've shied away. Thanks for the suggestion. -

Some snaps from cruising the Maine coast ... handheld, and no pp other than resize or straighten. Harbor at McGlathery Island in Merchant's Row off Stonington Moonrise over Castine Harbor -
Happy Birthday, Younger. Trust you are celebrating well, and here's to a great year ahead.

She's a knockout, Naaman, in spite of an ugly old man. Congrats, and so glad you could be there.

Brent ... shit happens, and nothing is ever final, or as it seems. Wake up each morning, take a deep breath, and see what the day is all about. Just sayin' ... Best wishes to you, your kids, and, yes, even the possible ex. As all your other homey's have said, we are here for you.

On vaca in Maine with daughter's family. Three little girls - 8 and 5, and their 4 year old cousin. Made the mistake of showing them the iPad. Photos, videos, downloaded some kids apps - coloring, spelling, etc, etc. Now I can't get near the thing, and it is amazing how naturally they take to the ui. Fun to watch, but I miss my iPad - in the middle of a book. Told son in law he needs to get his butt to the Apple store in Portland and get one.

Happy Birthday, Tom. Have a great day.

I know what you mean, Jim. I've replaced hard drive and memory in a mini, and it's close work.

This yesterday ... jp and I were hosted at grawk manor for lunch and samplings from Dan's brewhouse. Beautiful place high on a hill overlooking rolling corn and soybean fields bordered by forest in Glen Rock, PA. First up was a grawk lemon witbeer - delicious. That followed by tastings of Alaskan Amber and a light, continuously hopped, ipa - also excellent. Lunch of fresh sweet corn and home made salsa with just the correct heat. Then Dan's youngest son kicked my ass in air hockey ("my mom's better that you") 5-1. I got a case of ipa and a six of amber to go to complete a transaction from last winter - that should slake my thirst for a while. Great to see jp again, and thanks to Dan, Sussana (sp?), and 4 kids for a lovely visit. I look forward to seeing them at a hockey game on the return trip in Oct.

Hope everything works out, Naaman. Very sucky now, but potentially better days ahead. Good thoughts to you, your very preggers wife, and baby to be ...

Too cool for school., Al. Just superb looking. I like the custom input label. Nice job rearranging the racks and gear - looks great in the room.

New printer? Wireless printers are dirt cheap (I just got Epson N515 factory refurb w/free shipping for $49 - don't ask about the ink ) that I use with Extreme and works great. Put your $$$ where you want to --- moar printer(s) or moar router(s). Just remember that moar routers, although sexy, and letting your geek flag fly, lower your average bandwidth.

Damn! You mean there was a blind guy driving that van at CJ all the way from O'Hare to Munster and back? Good thing we all believe in unicorns/beer as art/guardian angels/collective high.

Good times ... 2008 ... after the Peter schooled incident. 2009 @ Fillmore West 2009 @ mellow Mayberry morning

Nothing like animal style eau de flame from burning van to heighten the enjoyment.

Congrats on the move, Matt. Happy settling in.

Major Surgery Revives 35 Year Old Amp

^^^ hmmmmm? My east coast law firm(s) suggest that possession is, indeed, 9/10 of the law, so at least for the summer, it's Nate's and mine. I expect the west coast firm to challenge, but be soundly defeated on appeal. -

I actually get by with mbp, iPad, slim, and headphones. Plenty of diversions - great bars and breweries (Allagash, Shipyard, Geary's), couple of Sox games at Fenway, boating, hiking, and hanging with old friends. Oh, just for curiosity, I checked today's value of $795. in 1976 ... just a bit over $3000. That seems about right for an equivalent amp today. -

^^^ In the late '70s when they were made, the Pioneer M-22 sold for anywhere from $650 - to it's list price of $795.
