  1. Nate definitely has 1st dibs, and no pricing has been set. Owner muttered something like wanting to get $2000. which seems good for a mint condition example with those components. I'd be happy to try to bargain with him, as we bonded a bit when I bought his smaller Calfee for Brent's friend. He seems ready to let it go.
  2. 59 cm Calfee pron ... (Nate has 1st dibs)
  3. The 52 cm Calfee has been bought for Brent's friend, Gabe. Great transaction all around, and bike is currently at my lbs being packed for shipment to TN. Owner was 75 year old gent who is retired sheriff of Williams County, Ohio. Bike was his wife's who has a brand new top of line Trek. They are knowledgable riders, and he knows his bikes. Honest and trustworthy, so I felt comfortable being in the middle of the transaction. After closing the deal, Denver (his name) said, "oh, I have another like new Calfee that I probably need to sell". My ears perked up, and he pointed to a gorgeous, black 59 cm beauty on a wall rack. Custom built for him in 2005 (it's a 2004 model), but hardly used, because Denver had massive coronary about the time he took delivery. His serious bike riding days were over, but he hasn't had the heart to let it go. Until now. I have pics if anyone is interested. It truly is as new, and has all top drawer components. I took pictures, and will be happy to help anyone who may be interested. Info from owner: Dimensions on my bike 2004 Calfee Tetra Custom are as follows: 1) Seat post 59cm/73 degrees 2)Toptube 59cm 3) Headtube length 19cm/74 degree angle 4) Fork Alpha Q Straight Blade 1 1/8th carbon steered 5) Chris Kingblack headset. Absolutely in excellent condition.
  4. Brent ... just to be clear, this is not my bike nor my cl listing. I just saw it, and thought it was such a good deal that I should pass it on. I will be happy to go look at the bike (it's just 10 miles from me), and act as middle person for the deal. If your friend is serious, and you will vouch for him, I can front some $$$ to hold the bike. Bike is in Venice, FL - how would he get it?
  5. 52 cm Calfee Tetra for $750 on my local cl. If anyone is interested, I will be happy to check out. Seems a screaming deal if anyone can use just 52 cm size. Calfee Tetra
  6. So sad ... The brother truly brought it to Woodstock. RIP, Richie. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=rynxqdNMry4&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DrynxqdNMry4
  7. Hurrah for King Jacob.
  8. Ah ... thanks. I've read Dune, but have not seen Game of Thrones (it's on my list) ... Much appreciated, and now my hipster creds go up a notch.
  9. BlackRapid customer service FTW. So I have a few BlackRapid bits and pieces - strap, SnapR bags - and lost the wrist strap piece from one. No biggie, but thought, what the hell, let's see what they do. Sent an email to their generic customer service email this morning. As soon as they opened (Seattle time), I got an email saying they would send me a replacement - no questions, no charge, no fuss. Sure, it's probably a $1 item at cost, but I was still impressed, so want to spread the word of the good experience.
  10. ^^^^ Wat? Someone pls school me on House ... (I take it it's not that limey Dr guy?)
  11. Done. Break a leg, Jeff .... No, wait, that's for show biz - have a great ride, then.
  12. Nice day Grahame and Jo, and fun dinner, Carl & Bonnie.
  13. Very nice, Tom. Bet they sound awesome. Did you need to make changes to the room for the new speakers?
  14. ^^^ Nice, Adrian ... wish I was (were) there to see and hear.
  15. Great idea for a story, Carl, and good execution of data mining. Sorry you don't get to wear the dress.
  16. Congrats to the writers and the paper, Carl ... does this mean you all get t wear those colorful, flower printed skirts, or is this some other Purlitzer?
  17. Jacob ... f/2.8 isn't slow with today's high iso bodies. f/2.8 @ iso 3200 = f/1.4 @ iso 800, and 3200 is not a stretch for the D7000 or 7100. That's just speed, though. If you're talking bokeh, then, yeah, but wa is not usually about bokeh.
  18. Happy Birthday, Jeffy.
  19. Haj .... what's wrong with the good old Nikon 24mm 2.8D lens? Seem to be in the $300 - 400 range, and will AF with prosumer (D300, 7000, 7100, etc) or better bodies.
  20. Sorry for the loss of your friend, Knucks - he appears to have been a cool and mellow guy.
  21. Oh, man, JW was an early, crazy good influence for what I like in comedy. RIP, Jonathan.
  22. Yup, what everyone else has already said, Shelly. Great news, and I'm sure well deserved.
  23. Shelly - have you searched cocktail recipes for Guava? Bet there are a bunch.
  24. Nice, Mike. Approved. NTTIAWWT
  25. pfffft ... anyone can beat me and Raffy.
