Sorry to hear about Ozzy. Sounds like he couldn't hope to be loved any more though. Narcotics have a negative effect on respiration so it's always a balancing act even for someone who can tell you when they're doing their job or not. Generally, in an end of life situation, it's considered to be more important to be comfortable so narcotic dosage can be a little on the heavy side.

Even though the drivers championship was decided in India, I can't say that I enjoyed the last races of this season any less (I thought that I might but I was just as glued to the set every lap!). Very sorry to see Webber leave the series but I'll be watching him in the sports car series now. I must say that my opinion of Vettel has warmed a bit and the points that Hobbs and company have made regarding seeing F1 history being made is well taken. Seeing Massa's emotion at leaving Ferrari in Brazil reminded me of the superstar status many of these guys have in their respective countries. And it also makes a stark contrast to the behavior of these guys to the bombastic/cartoon persona's that players in most other big sports present to the public. So, lots of stuff to look forward to seeing for 2014! I'm thinking that it might take a lot of races for all the teams to sort things out. I think it might highlight just how crazy it is not to allow on track testing! I can't help but feel sorry for the teams that are struggling for funding. Design talent is expensive! Still, the cars are the cars and the drivers are the drivers and however the cars turn out, the drivers characters will hold true. And that's really what keep me coming back for more.

Wow! Very glad to know that your guys are okay!

Happy B day jp! Heck, only missed this one by a day but I hope you're still celebrating!

That's like a paranoia nightmare come true! If it was a camera, you gotta wonder what weird stuff those guys have to watch. That's a great idea about the beer though! Fortunately, most of the places I record at aren't very enthusiastic when it comes to searches. At this point, I'm probably a little too relaxed when comes to hiding my gear.

How "stealthy" you need to be is almost entirely venue dependent. If you're just starting out, it might be best to scope out the security (since most places use the same security company) beforehand. Personally, if they're using metal detectors and doing pat downs, I don't bother taping and just enjoy the show. I only see that at big rock shows. Most of the shows I go to, they're just looking for booze and weapons. Otherwise, I sneak all my stuff in neatly packaged and mixed in with other stuff, shuffle off to a bathroom stall and "wire up".

Wow,.. nice rig grawk! All my recordings are done with headworn mini-mic's in stealth mode. Battery box or Church Audio pre > Sony M10. Usually pretty far back (probably 150 feet back).

I've been a taper for a while. Mostly jazz in large venues with various cards and hypers but some smaller rooms with omni's. Here's some of my recordings on SoundCloud. http://soundcloud.com/ironbut28/1-p-metheny-c-potter

Installed a new seat on my Aeron chair today. I added more sit-ups to my daily exercises and my tailbone was hurting. I improved my crunch technique to minimize the impact on my butt and that didn't help. Ordered a new seat and now that I installed it, man, what a difference! It didn't seem like my old seat was that worn but it must've been sagging more than I thought. Happy happy!

If you get heavy rains in your area, it's a good idea to use that as one of your primary considerations. I've had a few sets of tires that are great for cornering/stopping power but just sucked when it started to rain. Nothing worse than feeling like your car could break loose at the drop of the hat! And since I don't go up into the hills and "tear it up" anymore, I always check forums for opinions from folks who own the same model car I have and see what their experiences are with all weather tires. I've always had good luck with Michelins but they can be a little more expensive. They own BF Goodrich now so some of the old Michelin tire lines are now labeled Goodrich but they're the same tire and sometimes a little cheaper.

Holy crap Brent! Once your luck changes, better hit the slots! Sorry to hear (and see) your latest.

Happy B day Marc.

Hope everything goes well for your mom. That's about where my BP was when I was first diagnosed with HTN. Once they fine tuned my medications, it's been totally normal for the last 2 decades.

That really does look promising! Looking forward to hearing more.

Happy belated B day Carl! Hope it was one to remember.
