  1. Happy B Day buddy! And like Peter said, thanks for all the cool stuff you've done and instigated over the years!
  2. Exciting race for sure! I was glad to see McLaren do so much better but felt sorry for poor Lotus. Seeing the drivers grappling with those cars was a sight. And all the stuff going on made me forget the strange engine sounds for a bit. It all seems to be a perfect storm for the rookie drivers though. As far as most of them are concerned, this is the way an F1 car drives! Be that as it may, big congrats to Magnessun. McLaren looks like a bunch of genius' on that one! Very cool to see Martini's colors on the Williams and to see them developing a decent car. The steady money can't hurt! Hopefully the smoke will clear by mid season.
  3. If you haven't listened to any, be sure and check out NPR Musics Saturday, end of festival report (there are reports for each day). It's worth it just to hear Bob Boilen's fatigue induced take on the meaning of life. http://www.npr.org/blogs/allsongs/2014/03/16/289593298/npr-music-at-sxsw-2014-saturday
  4. Looks like a pretty full streaming schedule. 21 bands in all.
  5. Just found some pics of St Vincent who played Wed at the NPR showcase at Stubbs. Bummer! Maybe they'll play again or NPR music will have full videos of the shows they sponsored. http://www.heyreverb.com/blog/2014/03/13/sxsw-2014-photos-st-vincent-eagulls-kelis-perfect-pussy/86750/ St Vincent pics start on pg 6
  6. So far so good (although, the sound of those power units is going to take some getting used to). If you missed it, The Road to Ferrari and Horsepower are worth watching. It was kinda cool to have an entire night of F1 to watch!
  7. Yeah, they seem to loop to earlier bands or even earlier years. Seems like the first "live" thing today is DeGrasse Tyson right now. I wish that the entire schedule button showed the "entire schedule". I sure hope that St Vincent will be streamed!
  8. Marijuana Deathsquad is very cool!
  9. I'm not sure how long South X Southwest has been doing this live stream, but they seem to have it down. And I'm sure sponsorship has a lot to do with which stages/bands get onto the stream but there's not much that I enjoy as much as listening to bands who I've never heard before. At this level, I think they all have something to say. Check it out. If you hate who's playing right now, check back in an hour or so (between bands they run tape from their archives). http://sxsw.com/live
  10. Just an awesome viewing experience! I'm really hoping that this is the future of adult TV. I can't help but think that this show had some influence on the best actor Oscar?
  11. Happy B Day Fitz! Don't be such a stranger!
  12. Just a few more days till Australia! Here's the schedule for our first weekend of the the 2014 season. BTW, you should be able to view the interviews that Will did with Lewis and Jensen on the same page. http://motorsportstalk.nbcsports.com/2014/03/05/f1-on-nbc-sports-tv-streaming-schedule-for-2014-australian-grand-prix/
  13. Just wondering if anybody else here knew someone who read True Detective magazine way back when. Growing up in the south, I did know a couple of friend's dad's who did. Never did really pick one up myself and I would guess that , given the lurid cover art, my buddies mom's wouldn't have allowed it. It seemed like most of those dad's had some kind of chip on their shoulders. One in particular was a short, nasty piece of work that was employed at the state Pen. At the dinner table he did a lot of bragging about kicking lots of ass and using the 12 gage pump that sat in the corner of their kitchen. I have a feeling he was probably something like a cook or someone who never saw any action. Not to say that the series is anything like the contents of the magazine (although, since I never read one, I can't say). It does seem to be inspired by the feelings that the era and subculture evokes in me. Can't wait to see where it ends up!
  14. Mmm,.. I can smell that duck fat from here! You're doing a great job of promoting Axpona!

  24. Just checking to see if anybody else is planning on going. I'll go by around noon to see my buddies Craig and Frank. (Looks like Justin isn't going to make it) http://www.head-fi.org/t/693497/official-2014-bay-area-meet-sunday-feb-16th-2014
