Just saw a thing on the news from the Church of John Coltrane that it was the 50th for A Love Supreme. Caught the tail end of J. Hanrahan Quartet doing it at Monterey. Even just 20 minutes or so was pretty religious. Enjoy!

Happy B day Todd! Sounds like it was a great day!

Rumor has it that Christian Horner has decided to break the gender barrier at Red Bull by appointing Ginger Spice to test drive under Horner's direct supervision. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/celebritynews/11222355/Geri-Halliwell-engaged-to-Formula-One-team-boss-Christian-Horner.html

It looks like the Costa Mesa Marriott is within walking distance. Anybody down there know if it's nice?

Abu Dhabi was a little anti climatic but it's such a gorgeous venue that I always enjoy the spectacle. Sometimes I forget how emotional it all is until the championship is won. The fight between Lewis and Nico this season was so exciting that I find it hard to complain. And what a fantastic season Williams, Ricciardo and most of the other young-uns had. I was really holding my breath during the Sochi weekend. A major terrorist attack could have ended the season/F1. Great to see "some" improvement in Bianchi. I can't help but think that accident will be in the minds of drivers like Alonzo and Button who have little to prove in racing and will be thinking about the direction of their lives (both of which have a spiritual side and a dream life already). I'm hoping for one or two other teams to step up to the level Williams was at and maybe Williams to better the Silver Arrows on some of the circuits next season. My wild ass guess is that Bernie is shitting in the pot before he pulls out of F1. I think he believes he was thrown under the bus during the recent scandals and he's just getting his pound of flesh.

Some cool micro pics of the stylus/groove interface. Be sure and click on the twitter link for some other cool electron microscope action (there's a virus pic that's kinda terrifying!). http://dangerousminds.net/comments/vinyl_and_stylus_at_1000x_magnification

I've only seen a few of these PBS shows but once you start, you can't take your eyes away. So far, I've seen part of the steam yacht, the Lysander airplane, and just a bit of the Ahrens Fox fire engine and I'd be hard pressed to say which one I enjoyed the best. Here's a link to their home page; http://www.ultimaterestorations.com/

Yup,.. Exciting race for just about every driver it seemed like. It's alway cool the big Brazilian fan base whipped up into a frenzy. It was fun to see Piquet and Lauda kidding around. Talk about contrasting styles. Nikki was alway the nervous OCD guy while Piquet used to fall asleep in his car on the grid. Also great to see the designers have the new cars catching record lap times.

Glad to see that they're going to be using the USPS! Maybe I'm old fashioned, it just seems like the Post Office is always in dire straights and I'd hate to see them go under. Sometimes I feel guilty when I see folks working on holidays or Sundays. For Postmen, they'll be working to keep their jobs.

I just need any old excuse to hook up with all the HC faithful. If nothing else, I worry that I'm going to miss some crazy, memorable shit that's bound for the HC Hall of Shame. In other words, I'm in!

I'm with Dusty. Winer's site is just one of a few but Ethan seems better at communicating than most. I suggest you try out every reasonable layout in your new pad (very cool BTW). The closer you can get to getting the sound right by positioning, the better you final results will be.

I kind of lost interest in TAS when they went to a regular format magazine. When it was still in "pocketbook" sized form, the staff that was assembled seemed more like a family or a "staff" who met regularly and enjoyed each others company. Harry really had something going in those days and I really looked forward to read he and his staffs take how the home listening experience was becoming something you could take seriously. I seldom read the audiophile press anymore but I have no problem giving HP his due. RIP HP

I've been a fan forever and I'll miss hearing new shows. They never failed to make me laugh and I'm sure Ray won't know what to do without his brother. RIP Tom.
