Just use carpenter's wood glue. If you make sure the joints being glued are tight (find a way to clamp/compress each one), those will be the strongest part of the chair once it's dried.

Probably just a threat but I kinda doubt that things are turning out the way the FIA had hoped for with these new engines (IMHO the FIA totally have their collective heads up their asses!). Out of all the teams, Red Bull is probably the most likely to follow up on that threat. They have so many things they sponsor it's crazy. I stumbled across this the other day; http://www.redbullmusicacademy.com Having both of the Red Bull teams out would have huge consequences to F1 though.

I can't imagine having more mixed feelings about the race and all the surrounding news. That issue with Sauber and the "3" drivers, the Swiss and the Aussie courts was just about as wacky as it gets. On the other hand ( I'm sure that moneys crossed the right palms), having those two cars up on the charts was awesome. And considering how many cars fell in the DNF column, Button bringing his ride home was almost heroic. Not unlike many races in any given year, there were plenty of great duals happening back in the pack (if you could call it that). And we were lucky enough to have a tv crew that let us see that. Man,.. what a difference those guys in the broadcast truck make (editing on the fly for a world wide feed, no pressure here!). Except for Kimi's pit stops, Ferrari looked revitalized and it was actually a pleasure to watch Vettel get to the podium. To finish it off, it was cool to see how star struck Lewis was when Arnold showed up to interview the winners. It was about as crazy as it gets but I gotta say I enjoyed the hell out of it!

Happy B Day Larry!

That's the voice of the New Ironbut. Gone are the days that I worried about the fine details of an analogy. From now on I post like it's my last,.. or not? So lets just say I'm ready to piss my pink lace knickers! Let's race!

Excited as a school girl!

Happy B Day Fitz! I hope you had a great day!

I'm always stoked to see the "edgy" side of art/media let into the light of day. And while SXSW has gotten a little watered down over the years, it's good to see the organizers hearts are in the right place. Anytime you're wondering if that's true, watch the Closing Remarks which is usually given by sci fi great Bruce Sterling.

I was going to make a rational, grown-up post about what a great job SXSW does streaming concerts and what a bang up job Bob Boilen and the NPR gang do at relating the back stories, but anyone who's been at a big music festival knows that there's just no way to "can" the vibe of being there for reals. Maybe one of these days,..

What a cake! Happy B Day Bonnie!

SXSW is happening next week (along with the beginning of the F1 season!) and considering how freakin many great sounds will be happening there, NPR has done us a fantastic service and given us a sampler of what to keep any ear open for. (Full disclosure, I haven't actually listened to this but I plan to soon) http://apps.npr.org/austin/

RIP Orin Keepnews Weird, but the last time I saw Clark Terry, I sat next to Orin, he fell asleep and his head rested on my shoulder till the set was over. He was a huge part of jazz in America. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/orrin-keepnews-jazz-producer-and-historian-dead-at-91-20150301

Interesting dude! RIP Mr Spock

I saw that! Scary stuff when the chopper is put to use. Could be some concussion protocol (and since Fernando has no recollection of the crash,..). Here in the states, NFL athletes and head injuries have become big issues these days. Hopefully all other sports learn from their mistakes.

Comcast screwed up my on Demand feature for 11 days and I screamed bloody murder (like the spoiled baby that I am). They took $50 off of my bill and comped 3 months of Showtime (already have HBO and Starz). As a result, I've been gulping down Homeland 3 or 4 episodes a night. Between that and catching up on the last season of The Walking Dead, I'm convinced that ISIS is the result of a contagion.
