  1. Here's a nice ESPN article I stumbled across,.. kind of a love letter to eau- Rouge. http://www.espn.co.uk/f1/story/_/id/13499727/kate-walker-belgium-grand-prix-magical-eau-rouge
  2. Freakin' carpenters! God damn beards! Ban the trolls!
  3. Very disappointing news Larry. I'm with Jon, you should get a consult with a pain specialist. There have been wonderful advancements in pain management in the last decade or so (I guess the Gulf wars have had some positive results). Hang tough Brent. Back when my 401k tanked a decade ago (lost about 60%), I consoled myself by figuring that the money I'd contributed was still there. Over time, the total grew back and was the highest it's been last year. The moral to the story (IMHO), it's really just "on paper" until you start to "cash out". I do my best not to look at the account (especially with such a volatile market). When you're ready to do something with the account, wait for a high note and switch to the most conservative account available or roll over to something else altogether. Until then, I think that denial is the method of choice.
  4. Get well soon Tyll!
  5. Happy B Day Matt! I think about what a great friend you were to me from the first time we met. Miss you buddy.
  6. Happy B Day!
  7. Wow! Scary stuff Carl. Glad you're okay. It's probably the same where you live, but since I bought my Prius, I get a lot more road rage type reactions (nothing serious like you). I've even had a few friends freak when they find out I bought a Prius. Funny thing is, I drive it faster than I used to drive my BMW. This is because no matter how fast I drive the Prius, I'm still getting around 45mpg. With my 325i, if I dug into the gas, I'd get under 15mpg (city) plus I used premium. So, it would seem that there are a few of our fellow drivers who resent the drivers of environmentally thoughtful vehicles (hey, just came up with that PC phrase). I have to admit to being surprised here in Northern California!
  8. Wow! Can't wait to see you in that beauty. Now I totally understand how you ended up with the most epic headphone collection ever!
  9. Yup to the Edit.
  10. Stuck around a while listening and chatting with Tape Project/Bottlehead pals. I listened to those Elac's 4 times and was impressed each time (also found out they are designed by Andrew Jones of TAD/Pioneer). At $300 a pair (the ones at the show are $229 a pair) they may be too good to resist.
  11. When I first looked at that, scrolling up, I thought' "fatty corned beef? Icky." Then I saw the Lobster text, and instantly,.. "Mmm!" Goes ta show how easily my mind is swayed!
  12. Saturday? I'm thinking noonish.
  13. I hate updates! I'm in the middle of a clean install of all my software. This is the 4th day of download>install>authorize>run to confirm. (had to install one that has a 250G library 3 times!) Today, I might be able to install some of my files (like music). Maybe it wouldn't be so bad, but it took longer to clean install my laptop. Since the clean install,.. like butter!
  14. Happy B Day Tom!
  15. Looks killer! Thanks a million Todd!
  16. That reminds me, I need to haul my ass into the attic and replace a few feet of heater ducting. Unfortunately, I was the idiot that leaned on a section and smushed it down an inch or so. Since it's on an end run, that extra bit of resistance reduces the flow by 50% or so. Maybe I'll wait for a super hot day so I'll learn my lesson!

When asked how they got the name of the band,.. "A lady asks me,.. is that a whale in yo pants?" I answer "Ain't nothin but a little Fishbone."

    Tyler's back! Welcome shipmate.
  19. Happy B Day Todd! And a humble thanks from a grateful denizen of your most excellent forum.
  20. I enjoyed that race. Lots of crazy stuff and in the end, whoever made the least number of mistakes won. I agree with you both. Vettel is learning to smell those roses and really, what's not to enjoy. I'm still bummed at the lack of Monza this year but Spa's coming up and I've always loved it. For anyone who wasn't following F1 at the time, here's a video of one of the crazier Belgium GP's. 1998 I remember it like it was yesterday.
  21. I'm planning on being there (hope I'll still be on the list Justin?). 10am is about the time I will be dragging my ironbut out of bed on a Saturday.
  22. I'm on it Ric! But, if it doesn't have bat attacks in the Arctic or "Mother Cells" the size and shape of a Russian Potato, what good could it be?
  23. I have a guilty pleasure to confess,.. I've been watching "Zoo" and loving it. The plot couldn't be much more ridiculous but the acting is so, so bad that there are a couple scenes an episode that I miss because I'm laughing so hard. In particular, there's a cute gal that plays a French scientist/investigator. Her facial expressions are so hokey that I imagine the director just giving up and taking whatever he can get out of her. Is it supposed to be a joke? You tell me!
  24. Happy B Day Antonio! Have a fantastic day.
  25. Well,.. If you "knew" somebody who was currently a member, you could probably find a way to get Undercurrents (nudge-nudge).
