I seem to remember something like this in Minority Report,.. Anyway, maybe this will keep archivists from having to copy everything over and over. If you get tired of reading the slow text scrolling, just hit this link for the Cliff Notes: http://petapixel.com/2016/02/16/glass-disc-can-store-360-tb-photos-13-8-billion-years/ -
RIP Harper Lee. She did write the Great American Novel. IMHO Mockingbird couldn't have been more important for someone who grew up in the South during the early 60's.

Glad your friends are just stuck! In the mean time, time to frolic?

Happy 30th Colin! Keep celebrating,..

The wind was kicking up pretty good this afternoon in San Jose. Should be nice and cozy by tonight. Enjoy!

PreSeason in Barcelona starts Monday but teams will start unveiling livery Friday. Hoping for a more interesting races and there is a shit load of smoke to clear. Fingers crossed for the guys at Haas! And while I loved the return of Mexico City last season, the street course in Baku ( billed as the European GP after the Canadian in June) looks like it should be interesting (cobblestones?).

Happy B Day Steve! Hope it's the best one ever!

I miss those days. Saw U2 at the San Jose State Student Union ballroom. It was a free concert and they were promoting "Boy". It was the last concert in that room. The makeshift stage was rocking and reeling and man was it loud!

My Mom always taught me to only speak well of the dead. RIP Justice Scalia BTW My mom wasn't too crazy about the old bastard either!

Happy B Day Stephen!

The Utopias are really seamless. It could be the worlds greatest single driver if you didn't know better. And they go low low low! That classical piece they played was amazing sounding. The image height of the stage seemed like it was 25' tall.

Had a great evening of listening at a AES ( Audio Engineering Society) SF event. It was held at the new Coast Mastering facility in the Fantasy Records building in Berkeley. http://www.coastmastering.com/ The pictures don't really show how big the surround room is with three big ass Focal Utopias up front and a couple of really nice Focal LS-9's in the rear channels. It is huge and high! The smaller mastering suite isn't too shabby either. Probably the best imaging I've witnessed. There were about a dozen of us and we were asked to bring projects to share. I guess if I'd really thought about it I might have realized that just about everyone there were industry veterans with amazing recordings somewhere along the way to being released. The first guy had an orchestral/choral premier that was recorded at the new San Francisco Conservatory of Music. There were several engineers from Fantasy and one had a fresh jazz mix for a release from Concord. He couldn't say who the players were but they were killing! There was plenty of shop talk between tracks and I'm happy to say that only a little bit was "totally" over my head. I was also relieved that my recording wasn't ripped. We ended the night doing comparisons of the stereo and surround versions of the latest "Amused to Death". Not worthy!

RIP Bob Elliot! I always loved his sense of humor. One of my earliest reel to reel tapes is Bob and Ray Throw a Stereo Spectacular. Great stuff.
