Love your videos Chris! You need some isolation for your mic though (picky picky). It's hard to hear the tire squeal through the vibrations.

I don't see a way to load a file directly into Foo although I'm sure there's a way to add something to the Generator. I'm not sure if there's an advantage to doing that as opposed to recording the file into a multitrack (as many tracks as you like) in Record Panel of the MIO Console or just playing it in iTunes through a couple of daw tracks to an output in the Mixer. But, I'm certainly no expert when it comes to room measurements Marc. That's one of the reasons I like "all in one" solutions like FuzzMeasure.

I have the "lite" version of Foo and I use it everyday for all sorts of stuff related to mixing/mastering but I've never used it for room measurements. I use FuzzMeasure for room/speaker measurements. I've actually been using the demo for years but I keep meaning to upgrade to the paid version. http://supermegaultragroovy.com/products/fuzzmeasure/ Forgot to mention that I use Behringer ECM 8000 calibration mic with it. According to some folks, the QC of these mics is terrible these days. If I was going to buy one now, I'd consider one of these; http://www.cross-spectrum.com/measurement/calibrated_dayton.html BTW, these are condenser microphones so whatever interface (or mic preamp) you use, you'll need 48V power for the mic.

Holy cow Chris! Get well soon!

Season 2 started with a roar! This is one of the shows that makes me believe that a few like minded folks have snuck into the decision making levels of cable tv. Thank god!

Very sad indeed. RIP Jake.

RIP the cops who were shot in the line of duty in Dallas last night and all the folks whose deaths were being protested. And fuck those who believe that you can't or shouldn't sympathize with both!

Happy belated Birthday!

Happy Birthday Birgir!

Happy Birthday Mike!

Livin' large Al! Had some BBq issues in Berkeley a couple of weeks ago so I can sympathize. Eugene's on my short list so I'll have to hear your impressions when you get back.

That race had a little of everything. I really enjoyed the way the rain kept threatening with a few sprinkles every few laps. If you missed qualifying, there was a mad scramble for slicks with just a couple of minutes to spare. Mad house! And there's something satisfying when a team principle (who's usually completely under control) loses it in front of the camera. Wolfe seems like a cool guy though. I'm almost at the point that I feel sorry for the guys at Ferrari. It seems like whatever they do, it's the wrong move. I was pretty pissed at them for a while, now I can only scratch my head and wonder. And Kvyat's death spiral is shocking. It's almost like Max stole Dany's monkey's paw or something! Crazy stuff.

Here's a short Stereophile blurb on the classical music download site Primetone. It seems like a nice alternative to the label stores although the article seems to indicate that they are trying to retain some control of their holds. Anyway, I kind of like the way that Primetone includes news and interviews so visiting the site is a quick way to see what's hot. This is in contrast to ClassicsOnline that seems to be a more traditional online music store. Be sure and note how different sites vary in price and formats. BTW, looks like most of these sites have streaming in the making. http://www.stereophile.com/content/primephonics-hi-rez-classical-downloads#gkjKKEKBriu4GwiO.97

Happy belated Greg! It must be very cool to follow Lance and such an amazing sport! Enjoy!

Watched the first 3 episodes of Brain Dead. Pretty fun summer show and particularly enjoyable during this crazy political season!

Those were some fierce last episodes! I like the way things came into focus.

Nice one Greg!

If you see any reason to distribute data of some type to several people blu-ray is nice capacity wise. I only use disks in my car these days. But if it had a usb port, I would only burn disks when I'm distributing original music files to friends. SSD's and medium size jump drives are so cheap that data disks (that degrade over time) just don't make sense to me anymore.

Happy Birthday Justin! Hop in that new car and enjoy the day (in other words, fuck work!).

Checked out TheSweetHome. Very cool site! Thanks for the tip. I hated the Sonicare. I have a tendency to get gum problems and it made things worse. I have a nice one that is use for household cleaning now. Of course, it could have been user error but that was my experience.

RIP Ralph Stanley. Such a legacy for such a humble man! I doubt we'll see his like anymore.

Last night I went up to Fantasy Studios and listened and watched Mark Willsher show how he and Howard Shore did the sound for the Hobbit trilogy and show some of the tips and tricks of doing music for film. For the most part, it showed us how difficult it is to work with a huge budget film that's constantly changing and always on the edge of going over budget. On the techy end of things, he showed us how easy it was to eat up the 768 tracks in Pro Tools HDX and why the flexibility (that eats up all those tracks) is necessary. We even got a chance to see some scenes that Peter Jackson ended up cutting. What was also very cool, we were in the Fantasy Film Screening room that was just re-done with a 15 (IIRC) channel Meyer Sound system and super comfy seats. Probably the best cinema type bass I'm ever gonna hear/feel! The room doesn't officially open till next month.

RIP Anton! Tragic

I'm planning on doing the same thing pretty soon. I don't know of any reason not to (and I've checked). Of course, if you have any particularly demanding software you run, you should check support forums for that app. If you're installing El Cap on multiple machines or you plan to do clean installs on any of them, do yourself a favor and make a bootable usb installer drive ( save it just in case). http://osxdaily.com/2015/09/30/create-os-x-el-capitan-boot-install-drive/

The Knuckledragger 3rd Memorial Slow Forum Post

OMG Doug! I haven't seen that ET for so long. When I first saw Pod People I ranted and raved about it so much that my buddies started calling me Trumpy! I still think it should have been included on Voyager's golden "Hello" disk.
