If you need more features than the free downloader provides, check out the Wondershare Ultimate Converter ($60).

I've been using WondershareAllMyTube for a few years and it hasn't let me down yet (but I don't do a lot of video downloads). A couple of the early ones I used stopped working after a few months but this one seems pretty good. I know that one of the early ones I used (that stopped working with YouTube) could download the original file (pre YouTube compression and conversion) but I don't think this one will do that. Worth checking out I think. https://www.wondershare.com/pro/mac-free-youtube-downloader.html

Thanks for the heads up! That looks like it should be great. Into the queue it goes!

RIP Johann Johannsson! Found dead in Berlin at a mere 48 years. A wonderful composer from Spritzer's hometown (which is home to many fantastic artists). https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/johann-johannsson-visionary-composer-behind-sicario-dies-at-48-1083619

My 2 favorite funny shows the last couple of seasons has been; People of Earth and Baskets. I haven't seen the current season so I don't know how either one has held up but both are off the beaten track.

Happy Belated Jeff! I hope you had an exceptional day.

Awesome Grahame! I was keeping up with the news all week then totally spaced (ha-ha) the launch! Someday I'm sure it'll be ho-hum but seeing those two boosters side by side,.. brilliant!

Here's another good place for used/refurbed Macs. I bought a refurbished Mac Pro and a used iPad from these guys and have nothing but positive impressions from them (they also have a 20% off special going right now plus no sales tax). https://www.powermax.com/used/used-macs/

I believe you can develop ios apps in a Windows environment. In any case, I'd find a developer's forum and see how far you can get with what you have before investing in new hardware. If you get to the point where you think you need to buy a Mac for this, find a used one on Craig's list. You'll be able to buy a nice i7 machine from 2014 for just about nothing (or just ask around here, I've dumped some perfectly good machines for scrap).

Awesome game! I have lots of Philly friends and I'm happy for them. There isn't a better town in the US for sports fans IMHO. I agree, Brady had a great game and the rest of the team just didn't rise to the occasion this time. But what a fairy tale for Nick Foles and the entire Eagles team. It was great to see such gutsy play calls from an underdog too!

As if someone was listening,.. I got an email from Sweetwater yesterday and it linked a decent article about the different standards (?) for TB3 and USB-3 So, I guess there are 3 wattage levels mentioned, 10, 60, 100. The ULN-2 needs 12 watts to boot. I'm guessing that big companies like LG, Samsung etc. have energy savings goals they try to stay under so having the minimum power supply is probably in their best interest. https://www.sweetwater.com/insync/what-thunderbolt-3-usb-c-mean-to-musicians/?utm_content=article1-button&utm_source=insync&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=20180203

Antonio, The dongle landscape has changed so many times in the last decade that I never buy one until I need it. Someone could come up with a TB3>firewire adapter tomorrow for all we know. Hopefully things will settle down with USB3/TB3 long enough for everybody to assimilate?? Marc, the problem with your LG is it isn't suppling enough power to run the MIO. It used to be that once you got your unit running, it would run off of less juice. If you have your AC adapter try plugging that in then plug your firewire+dongles into your monitor port. Now that it's booted, try removing the AC power. It might run off of bus power (until the unit powers down completely again). Me, I just always keep my MIO's attached to AC and firewire. Makes rebooting a little bit of a pain but that's just the way it is.

Watched season 4 of Black Mirror and I'd have to say that they've upped their game! Awesome stuff that left me begging for more. Here's an animated short with a similar tone.

There's a lot to admire in both systems Craig! V15 has always been know as THE tracking champ. A lot of archivists still use them on their SL1200.

RIP Hugh Masekela and Joe Frank! I'd heard a few pieces from Frank over the years like I'm sure many here have but I never knew his name. I'm a big fan of RadioLab and TAL so I absolutely loved the way that tribute ended with Ira being pissed off at all the people in the future who walk around and have sandwiches and stuff after he's dead. "Fuck them all!" I will spend some time listening to as much Joe Frank as I possibly can.

Happy Birthday Mike! I'm sure Deb will treat you like the king your are!

Happy Birthday Adam! Have a fantastic Saturday,.. or go ahead and enjoy the whole year!

RIP Jo Jo! I haven't thought about that great Celtics team in a long time. I was a big fan back in the day and was among those that sat glued to the tv in that triple overtime game 5! When I saw Jo Jo sitting on the floor during some free throws, I learned what the meaning of 'heart" was!

Wow! RIP Dan Gurney. A racing legend if ever there was one. Maybe I'm a little biased (being American) but as the saying goes, "they don't make 'em like that anymore!" The world turns a little slower without him to set the pace!

Happy Birthday Citizen! Maybe a little ice cream with that cake?

Happy Birthday Buddy! I know you live in the Santa Barbara area and I hope you and yours have be spared all the recent disasters.

Happy Birthday Dr John! Now it's you're turn for a big ass steak!

Bowie would have been 71 today and in two days it'll be the annie of his death. Just noticed that Rick Wakeman played keys on Hunky Dory (Changes, Life on Mars etc). Still seems impossible that he won't surprise us with revelation again!
