Happy Birthday Ken! And have a great holiday too!

Some folks are saying it has something to do with their 60 year celebrations but it seems like they're aiming for a couple of levels up. I've used a few of their X mixers/controllers and wasn't super impressed (not on the level of eucon/Avid and even some of the PreSonus stuff). But the Wing looks like a pro level FOH mixer.

This video is long and deep. And not unlike a lot of folks of his intellect, Jacob Collier is a little tough to take sometimes. But even if you aren't into the kind of music that he's doing (not a fan myself), there's a lot to learn as he explains the broad strokes and fine-finite points of his music. When I watch his videos I can't help but wonder where music would be if Mozart had had youTube.

I love Joe. I'll check it out today.

I have a couple of controllers that I don't use. One's an old Korg padKontrol I picked up on eBay for a song and the other one's an Akai MPD18. I never felt comfortable with either one so they've been in the closet for a couple of years. Any of you guys can have one or both for shipping. PM me.

Must be that time of the year. Had minor surgery on both of my big toes a few days ago. Not really painful but kinda icky!

If any of you guys who have upgraded to 3D and are having issues with the front panel knobs not working smoothly (gain jumping up and down), it's an issue with a lag between the software gain and hardware gain sync. There is supposed to be a fix coming in public beta 10 (pb10). In the meantime, open a finder window > open applications> right click (opt click) Mio Console 3D> click Get Info> tick Prevent App Nap If you're using a laptop it will use a tiny bit more energy so close Mio Console until you need to change something you can't do with the hardware.

I couldn't help but shudder when I saw the picture of Lester Maddox in your post Ric! I was in school in Stone Mtn. Ga. when he was governor and one of the reasons I left home. And just like another duly elected official, he was an embarrassment to those how didn't vote for him and a hero for those who did. It was bittersweet to have run across him years later in Underground Atlanta selling autographed ax handles to drunken tourists (he was famous for running black folks out of his restaurant with an ax handle he kept behind the counter). Interestingly, that same year I was working banquets at the Hyatt in Atlanta and met a fellow named Carter who was holding a small fund raiser I was bar backing at.

Have a happy Birthday Todd!

Ordered for my X-mas Stocking! Thanks Ric!

For you hardware folks,.. Here's some cool tabletop equipment stands I stumbled across. Very reasonable and it sounds like the maker is willing to expand his offerings if the demand is there. https://www.3dwaves.net/

After a crazy week, it's nice to just ride a groove! Happy Sunday!

As an update; I've been using my i9 iMac since July and it has been a dream come true for me. More than twice as capable than my 2012 Cheese Grater 6 core/48G ram. The 27 inch 5k display with the Pro Vega 48 graphics still catches me staring at high rez images just for the heck of it. A while back I was doing some articulation template (a Logic thing) testing and I had 500 software instrument tracks open in Logic. The fan is super quiet so I never know when it's running. Couldn't be happier!

RIP Michael Loved his bit parts like "The Russians Are Coming the Russians Are Coming" (filmed in Mendocino IIRC) and "Enter Laughing".

That sure brings back some awesome memories. I can never thank Voltron and JP for all those fantastic meets they ran! And what a lucky guy I am to have met all you folks!

Glad you liked it, Kind of the back story (or what I imagined) were small night creatures, a mouse and a trap door spider stop trying to devour each other and engage in sort of a spastic dance. Sometimes in lock step and sometimes back at each others throats.
