Just got back home to Cayman today for the first time in a long while. Same old, same old, only much hotter than when I left. I'll have to get out and do some diving just to stay cool, but other than that I'll mostly just veg out for a while. I can't think of anywhere else that I've ever been where it's so easy to do nothing at all, day after day... and I really like that about this place!

Congrats, Hawks! It's just such an unreal whenever Chicago wins anything!

By far, as measured by how long it takes one to fall asleep him/herself when located anywhere within snoring distance of the offender. In the case of Matt, it took me about an hour and a half before I could finally fall asleep. The beer buzz didn't seem to help. But I was down in the basement, so I didn't actually hear your roar. I'm told, however, that it could cause sleep delays for up to 3 hours. Oh, and Matt's other trick is to set a recurring alarm (every 9 minutes) that he doesn't bother to either respond to turn off for hours on end.

Hey, I don't snore at all, and I've detuned my CPAP machine to a mere 60 db. So where can I find a room for Friday night? I think I've got a room lined up for Saturday night, but might have to fight Stevio for a bathtub to sleep in for Friday night.

Came back across from Maine to New Hampshire last night. Took the Atom up to the summit of Mt. Washington today. Great views up there, somewhat similar to some of the 14ers in Colorado, but then again, not really.

I think you'll enjoy this. One of the better emails I've received in months.

Just an FYI... Amazon's Gold Box Deal of the Day, for $26.99 is "Woodstock Ultimate Collector's Edition on BluRay" which is quite the deal, IMO. Amazon.com Gold Box: New Deals. Every Day. I think I paid at least twice as much when it first came out (not all that long ago) and wasn't disappointed.

Cobra 29 LTD CB with bluetooth, for my rig so I can hear what all of the truckers are saying about me! Also got an external speaker so I can hear it better inside the rig amidst engine noise and the radio, plus a marine type of outdoor PA speaker that I'm going to mount under the hood so I can cuss out the idiots who pull in front of me in traffic. Next up is the 150db train horn.

That sounds really crazy, Vic! But you should have seen what happened to me today! I'm in Maine, and I made the mistake of mentioning to a few people that I know this guy name Gene, who lives down in Sarasota... Big mistake! I've been running from the police, several crazy stalker women, and several of their husbands ever since!

Drove the rig across much of NH and into Maine. Trying to decide whether to push on up another hour or call it a day. I'm just a bit North of Portland, heading towards Bar Harbor and Bangor. Should be a lot nicer than it was the last time I was here in the mid-90s. It was mid-March at the time so there were still remnants of winter, like black snow/ice. Hopefully it will be warm enough tomorrow for an Atom run, searching for lighthouses.

Went to see the Red Sox last night at Fenway and was blown away by that place! So nostalgic and yet present day all at once. I just love old baseball parks, and wish that more of them were still standing. Wandered through parts of New Hampshire today and into the Eastern reaches of Vermont. Beautiful country out here. I'd love to see it in the Fall sometime. Have some mountain roads to explore in the Atom tomorrow (back in New Hampshire). Need to leaf through some of the tourism literature and come up with a plan (at least for a day).

I'm in Connecticut somewhere, kind of roaming around aimlessly in the motorhome, heading in the general direction of Boston. Think I'll catch a Red Sox game tomorrow night if it's not too cold. Was in Queens yesterday and did a track day in my Atom at VIR a couple of days before that. Will be heading up to Maine by the end of the week, and then into New Brunswick.

Congrats, Ric! I think you're in for a treat. Do some reading over at the other place about the tube rolling possibilities with the 007t (there should be a couple of old threads about it with useful input from some of the folks who now hang out here). I never did any tube rolling myself while I owned an 007t, so I've always wondered how much performance I was leaving on the table. Some seem to believe that there is quite a bit of room for improvement in that department. KG, Hirsch and of course the Spritzmeister may be able to help. I like the idea of tubes with the 4070 because, if anything bad can be said about them, they can be a bit dry and thus the tube warmth could make them more involving.

Amen to that, sister! My favorite closed headphones, in more-or-less order: R10 4070 L3000 DX1000 Ed. 9 W5000 W1000X D5000 CD3000 PROline750 DT990 Comments: R10, obviously. But the 4070 are the real deal. IMO well worth the coin. Although they couldn't be much uglier or more "look at me, the dork" looking in the mirror, they deliver music in an extremely detailed, yet neutral and matter-of-fact manner. Not at all "exciting" headphones, but nothing is missing or overblown, and thus they draw no attention to themselves. As a result, there are no distractions to your enjoyment of the music. They're easy to get "lost" in, which is the one thing that closed headphones do better than open headphones, generally speaking. But the difference is, with the 4070, you get lost in the music (unadulterated truth) as opposed to lost in the headphones. So many other closed headphones draw too much attention to themselves. Like the L3000, DX1000 and Edition 9. Love 'em all in some ways, but wouldn't want to listen to them day in and day out as all-arounders. The L3000 is the PRaT master, but not available and not under $1,000. Duh! The DX1000 and Edition 9 are both kind of funky. I'm not crazy about either (long term), but both offer something a little "different" sounding that might really grab you. I can understand why some people go ape shit over each of them. After that, there is a dividing line for me. I'd love to say that the W5000's are great headphones, and they probably would be for someone they happened to fit properly, but I can never get them to fully seal and I'm not alone in that regard. They're kind of like the Qualia 010 both in terms of the love/hate they seem to draw, but also in terms of the fit/seal issue, so my advice is always to please try before you buy if you're a W5000 shopper. All of the rest of the AT woodies have their merits and demerits, but generally follow a house sound (something about the mids, not sure what to call it) that ultimately limits their appeal if you're looking for an all-arounder. I guess it's fatigue. I can listen to the W100 or W1000 for a couple of albums, but that's about it. The W1000X are better, but I'm not sure how much better, and I don't think quite at the W5000 level, but they're still new and not broken in yet. The W1000X sure are pretty though. I've never really tried many AKG's other than the K1000, so I can't really comment on that score. Not crazy about the D5000. Nice and polite but kind of blah and uneventful. Haven't tried the D7000.

Flew to Virginia to head up Biggie's legal defense team over the impending $30 lawsuit.

Living on the road can get old after a while: Yes, we did stay at the SHADY hotel, it was shady pictures from middle east photos on webshots True, even if you're staying at nice places. No place like home...

Ya, he was really impressive and clutch too. Most guys wouldn't have taken that 3 in the last minute when playing with a lead and nobody under the boards to rebound. I think they still would have won the game either way, because Kansas would have had to foul him, and he's dead on from the free throw line as well. But still, it took some stones to throw that one up!

Watched fucking Kansas get fucking beat... fuck!!! Ehh, not really. Congrats to Northern Iowa for continuing to play their game and not getting spooked toward the end. It's always nice to see your alma mater advance and possibly win it all like Kansas did in 2008, but it's still a great tournament to watch even after you no longer have someone to root for. I guess I'll now have to become a Northern Iowa fan since, 1) they beat Kansas, and 2) they represent the Missouri Valley conference and thus Illinois State University, my undergrad school.

The other night I subscribed to the mlb.com premium package, $119 for a year. Got a sample of it last year during the playoffs and world series. I kind of like having a baseball game running in the background when I'm online.

Must have been early in the day; they look way too sober. I mean, for a beer weekend and all.

Awww, that's so sweet. Me too.

Hey, that's good news! Just don't blow them up with your mad science experiments!

Complete series of Sanford & Sons and Hitler in Color (a documentary) from Amazon.com. Why? Because I'm the sucker who self selected last week to be added to their daily Amazon Gold Box email list! That, and I can't ever seem to be able to turn down a "good deal" when it's just 2 clicks away. Of course, I can always watch Sanford & Sons on cable, but never do, and there's something nice about being able to watch a complete series for just $25.99. Plus, who has ever seen Hitler in COLOR!?!? Ya, like I really NEED that!!! Hitler is always fun.
