  1. You go a good deal, man! They're going to make a comeback! Same with the Houston Astros. Just wait until after All-Star break...
  2. Good news, Todd, and welcome.
  3. Good one, Grahame... "not specifically too good." Long time since I've listened to that; will have to pull it out for a spin.
  4. Ya, but some male bats suck each other off too, not that there's anything wrong with that.
  5. First shot, hand held and without fidgeting with anything, using my 17mm tilt/shift Cannon L glass with the 5D2. Should be a fun lens to play around with.
  6. Awesome! You'll love it, man! I've got a 65VT25 and a 50VT25. Looking forward to checking out the VT30 series, just out of morbid curiosity if nothing else.
  7. The video scores! Tyll... what more needs to be said.
  8. ^ What he said. Spent 18 hours traveling back from Monaco to Cayman today, then got stuck in traffic for an hour trying to get back to my house to shower and change so I could immediately go teach a class tonight. Stupid cops were sitting at a busy T-junction on the main road with their blue lights swirling for no apparent reason, not directly blocking traffic but definitely creating a massive gawkers backup. Get to the College and half of my students are in the library working on a project for another class (which I also teach, but that's besides the point). Had to go drag them out of there and into class while the others waited patiently. Next time I'll just cancel. No sense in about killing myself to make it back for them if they don't give a shit. Besides, it's supposed to be an individual project so they essentially got caught cheating for one class and skipping another all at the same time. To make matters worse, they gave me attitude as if I were somehow intruding on their time. Got home and discovered termites in my garage, eating away at the wood crates for all of my MBL gear (speakers, amps, preamp, digital front end). At least the a/c works and my dentist doesn't have halitosis.
  9. Haven't been to Denver for any significant time in several years, and have family within an hour, but October is a tough time to get away... plus it's a little late in the game for twisty mountain canyon cruising. Agreed that this won't be a CanJam as we've come to know and love them, but I've never been to a RMAF. Would kind of like to go just for the heck of it, but it's such a shame to pop in and out of Colorado and not have the time to enjoy the scenery. That, and I can never manage to make it to Acoustic Sounds "Blues at the Crossroads" event which is also in October, and that would take priority if I could get away.
  10. You'll never guess what this ad is about... (very slow loading but worth watching)
  11. Sounds like an awesome trip, Al. I might watch European Vacation in your honor in the meantime. Berlin and Prague are definitely on my bucket list.
  12. The Houston Astros have brought up their top pitching prospect from AAA to make his major league debut pitching against the Cubs tomorrow. Good luck to Jordan Lyles, the 20 year-old right hander better known as Colin around these parts:
  13. Paid my 5 digit annual affair called property insurance.
  14. Big belly shake here! Got me laughing hard! Good ole' gunt gurl...
  15. Not that I have a lot of experience with exercising in recent years, but I've always found that for routine cardio (i.e., treadmill, elliptical, rowing, recumbant bike, etc.) you're much better off with clip ons. Something simple like Koss KSC-35 or the like. Sound quality doesn't really come into play. It's not like you're going to be listening for hours on end. For weight training, I don't see any reason why custom IEMs wouldn't work, unless you go to such an extreme that they untwist and pop out!!!
  16. Nice pic, Jeff! Would be nice if you could get some time behind the wheel at your next track day. You certainly have enough fast toys to choose from!
  17. This is a great suggestion. Not only do they need lots of juice, but there's also the flavor issue, and it would help if you could sample them with several different amps. This would help you to decide, a) whether you think they're worth keeping at all, and if so, at what cost? The cost factor for K-1000 amplification can vary by a country mile, and what makes one person happy might not do it for someone else. Of course, even if you could get to a meet, it will be far too loud to make any sense of even open headphones, let alone the K-1000. So I guess that might not be such a good idea afterall...
  18. "He said his skin felt like a pork roast, crackling on the outside but soft on the inside." Kind of a strange description, but hey, I'm sure it wasn't pleasant.
  19. Relax, Steve... not that kind.
  20. Happy Judgement Day! If anyone has to go to Hell today, make sure you say hi to Ivan (the guy dressed in the devil outfit) for me. His ex-wife, Mabel, lives down to the street from me and is now married to Spike. She once told me that she's been married twice, and the two of them don't add up to half a man! Here's Hell: Here's a bit about Ivan (he's a Hell of a guy, despite what Mabel thinks): Where the hell are you from? Oh, that's a hell of a place!
  21. Got to the bottom of the bag of pistachios and then made a bad decision... What I should have done is throw away that last handful of stubborn shells that I couldn't bust open with my hands. Or alternatively, I suppose I could have laid them on the countertop and given them some light taps with a hammer or other similar instrument. Instead, I decided it would be a good idea to bust them all open with my teeth... forgetting as one does in these instances of temporary insanity that I've had a lot of dental work done over the years, including a crown that several minutes later was found on the floor. Clean break of the post (or whatever they call it after doing the root canal and then preparing the area to accept the crown). So hopefully Dr. Fred can fix it with some crazy glue tomorrow. Long gone are the days of employer provided dental insurance, so this one will be out of pocket.
  22. I'm still hopeful for the Bullies but giving up the home court advantage really sucks.
