  1. Happy birthday, Chris!
  2. Oh shit! Sad news for sure. RIP, Ken. I only met him one time, circa 2003 or so at the meet that you and he hosted at Grado Labs. He had great energy. Like you say, good guy and far too young (same age as me).
  3. Thanks, this is good news!
  4. Ok, so not today but the other day... fucked up my JH13. Long story short, I dropped the right earbud on a tile floor. It cracked and it's now hollow sounding when I flick it with my finger (no, not that way, Steve!). Can they be rebuilt or repaired? I'm sure it will sound fine, though I'm afraid to test it, and it will probably stay intact for some time, but there is a crack in the middle of it that goes half way across... pic would help, I suppose. Just think it would need to be remolded somehow for strength. ... So the long story is that I use only the left earbud for my "Smart Santa" routine, where I'm getting information from the parents about their kids (names, ages, what they want for Christmas, or what they got last year, anything else they want to tell me). It's the same thing that faith healers do by getting people to eavesdrop on conversations and then relay that information to the guy in the pulpit. (Not that Santa should be associated with such snakes!). Ok, so my season is over and I'm home from a 34 hour shift, straight through the night with sneak a peek visits and all through the morning and into the evening on the 25th, and instead of just jumping in the shower and going to bed, I decided it would be a good time to reunite the L and R earbuds on the JH13 before finally putting them away. Of course, something I could have done at any time and anywhere, and not necessarily while wobbling through my bathroom with a tile floor! Maybe after sleeping for about 18 hours and then sitting on my bed in the room with carpeting... Fuck...
  5. Day one of the candy cane giveaway adventures. So last year about this time I bought nearly 2,000 candy canes at closeout prices. Assured by my fellow Santa friends that they would keep well in cool dry places for at least a year, I figured I'd get a year's supply and be ahead of the curve. Then of course completely forgot about them until about a week before Christmas. Big massive Glad bags full of them in a closet... and indeed they did keep well. But now I want to get rid of them, so we're hitting the beaches and my elves are helping. Like Oprah, "You get a candy cane! You get a candy cane! Everyone gets a candy cane!" Think we gave out about 500 of them today. I've got another crew of elves all set to go for Saturday, and it's a fun way to reconnect with people and to allow them to share in the joy of being elves for the kids. Top down on the way back to town from Rum Point.
  6. Happy birthday, Ric! Best wishes for the new year as well.
  7. What an amazing contribution to the world. RIP, Dr. Heimlich. Also, one of my favorite Beavis and Butthead episodes... https://www.watchcartoononline.io/playlist-cat/126731/beavis-and-butt-head-season-5-episode-4-choke
  8. Shhh!!! Let this be our little secret...
  9. RIP, Craig. We all knew it was coming, and you were so strong, so brave, and such an incredible inspiration to so many. This one is going to hurt for a while.
  10. RIP, Alan. But for fuck's sake, let's get on to 2017.
  11. Happy birthday, and yes, whiskey indeed!
  12. Dogs in the morning. Kids in the afternoon. Great day.
  13. Good night, Mrs. Brady. You always seemed like such a sweet lady. RIP, Florence Henderson: http://www.latimes.com/local/la-me-ln-florence-henderson-brady-bunch-obituary-20161124-story.html
  14. A couple of pics from this past weekend's tree lighting ceremony: No sooner did they post the pics, did the video follow: http://www.loopcayman.com/content/video-camana-bay-illuminates-thousands-gather-tree-lighting-ceremony
  15. So sad, Brent. Glad that your kids are fine, but I'm sure that one will really hit home for a long, long time. For my part, I'll be giving hugs to nearly 10,000 kids this next month and a bit, and will keep in mind just how precious life is for all of us.
  16. Congrats, Todd.
  17. Happy birthday, John!
  18. I'm not trolling either, by the way. I realize I'm in the slim minority here, and understand how exciting that news would be to a lot of people were it true. In interest of peace and harmony and so forth, I try my best to avoid politics (on Headcase, anyway). But I just love that asshole with his "wrong" schtick, makes me laugh every time.
  19. Nice capture, Mikey. Just when I had finally relaxed and said to myself, "Ehh, it's just a couple of seconds. Nobody will notice that my beard wasn't quite 'Santa white' yet..." They called me on a Friday afternoon, wanting to know if I was available on Saturday morning! This was Nov 5th. My first events for the season are actually tonight and then this weekend. So I was thinking I'd have a chance to bleach a couple more times to "get there" before I'd need to make an appearance. I always plan to be camera-ready by mid-November and then work backwards with my bleaching schedule. It usually takes 10-12 times. In that video, I had bleached 9 times. Today will be the 10th. I've actually let it go for a couple of weeks just to give it a bit of a break. I've learned that if I get too aggressive early on, then I could have serious breakage in the middle of December -- not good! Wish my hair was naturally white, but it's definitely not in the genetics on my dad's side especially.
  20. Cameo appearance...
  21. Can't speak for Biggie, but I'd agree more with his description of the PS-1 as "fun" as opposed to "good", or maybe good fun. But they're definitely not neutral if that is a big part of your 'good' equation. I do enjoy them a ton for them for what they are, but for me anyway, they're a very mood and music sensitive listen.
