  1. Sound advice! http://www.theonion.com/article/economists-recommend-setting-aside-part-every-payc-51865
  2. Happy birthday, John!
  3. Great news, Larry! You sure were due for some great news! Ft. Collins is an awesome town, but then again so is Boulder. Remember visiting campus at Boulder for the first time in the early 80s, and was just walking around in the midst of it all when some dude ran up to me, talking really fast, like "speed, acid, cocaine, what do you need?" It kind of spooked me because he came out of nowhere, but I just kind of shook him off and said, "No thanks, man... not interested." Then I turned the corner and walked maybe the length of another building, and another dude approached me, trying to hand me one of those little green Gideons bibles. I told him, "No thanks, but there's this guy over there..." as I pointed to where I had just walked from. Don't know if they ever connected, and if so, who was more persuasive.
  4. Happy birthday, monkey man!
  5. One of my Facebook friends who lives here in Cayman just posted this pic with no sense of irony... although I think those green extensions go quite well with her outfit.
  6. RIP, Allen Toussaint, legendary New Orleans jazzy bluesy R&B singer, songwriter, producer... well, he really was hard to categorize. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/allen-toussaint-iconic-new-orleans-songwriter-and-producer-dead-at-77-20151110
  7. Happy birthday, guys!
  8. We just need to know if it sounds good, and you're just the man for that task! Enjoy.
  9. Sorry about that, Larry. I truly am. At the same time, as hard as I'm sure as it must be to "see it" at times considering all that you've both been through (and will continue to go through for years to come, in one way or another)... but you we both among the lucky ones to have survived such a terrible accident. Many don't, and the point I was making really is that life can be so fickle. Here on minute, and gone the next. Thankfully, most of us are fortunate enough never to have had to experience anything so traumatic directly, and we really do wish you and your daughter a full recovery in every sense of the word.
  10. You never know. But I don't see him getting one. He's a practical guy. But even if he did, I couldn't see him being willing to travel with that amp. Checked luggage? No freaking way! Maybe FedEx it in advance of a meeting. Maybe... but that's a tough pill to swallow if anything happens to it.
  11. Quick, someone offer them $40k for that unreliable piece of shit!
  12. Jude likes them. They're the bestest of the bestest at being the bestest. Although... I suppose I could sell my Orpheus system on eBay (are they really going for $25k to $30k? that's insane)... and also sell pretty much all of the rest of my headphones and amps, and finally be able to claim that I'm a "minimalist" with this fancy hydraulic gizmo.
  13. Nice piece of satire. http://www.adweek.com/adfreak/john-sts-latest-merciless-satire-just-destroys-dove-style-marketing-women-167947
  14. Ya, because it's bad, somehow, that a company like Sennheiser would be trying to push the outer limits of what's possible when they could instead focus on making disposable earbuds for the airline market (and WalMart)... because it's always an either-or proposition and the pursuit of one automatically prevents the other.
  15. Makes sense to leave the door open for the HE10009000 and HEV10009000 for about €500,000.
  16. So it wouldn't appear that they would be interested in selling the headphones separately? Of course, they would probably want $20k or $25k for a pair... tee hee...

  18. Because we needed that... to go along with the pickup truck nuts, I guess. http://www.cosmopolitan.com/sex-love/news/a48501/scrotentote-for-sale/
  19. Best wishes for this next surgery, Larry... for an improved and hopefully as good as new left femur. Your daughter seems wise to delay her ankle fusion surgery, and is obviously bright and ambitious to be managing all of this while still performing well at Duke. Not an easy way to go to college, but it is what it is and she's soldiered on. Can't imagine anything ever stopping that girl from pursuing her dreams if this hasn't! You must be enormously proud of her, and it's good to know that there is some insurance money to pay for her college costs and set her up reasonably for law school. The ongoing medical costs are so hard to predict, so quite wise of you to be planning as best you can for that as well. In the meantime, all the best with the day by day.
  20. Nevermind.
