It's amazing how many people loose their shoes in serious accidents. I remember in one of my serious accidents (I've had many) I was wearing heavy high top hiking boots and after the accident the shoelaces of one of the boots were broken in 7 or 8 places. basically the impact snapped the laces all up and down the boot, my foot and ankle were black and blue for a month, but otherwise unharmed. I'm a little unforgiving concerning the kids today and their hotdogging (On road stunt riding) and truly excessive speeding. I sort of consider it culling the breed. in the past I've ridden ridiculously fast, but always on deserted roads.
  2. I haven't seen Tyll writing that they "Fucked" him over. That being said HR just ain't the same without him, so I'm pretty much done with them as well.
  3. Shit! I would have beaten him. to the rms observation if it weren't for the demon alcohol.
  4. I've been drinking so my memory is fuzzy, but the 6 volts SE or 12 volts balanced could be referring to P-P RMS would be substantially less. God bless 40 oz White Russians!
  5. Have you isolated it down to one channel?
  6. A fuse being blown can sometimes cause your described symptoms, but having a different fuse in one location (That's not blown) would not. Did you check the fuses with a meter, or did you eye-ball them? Sometimes a fuse looks good when it's not.
  7. My 2000 Suzuki GSX-1300R Hayabusa was dyno tuned by Orient Express (On Long Island) and it puts out a measly 166 RWHP and 102 ft/lbs. I don't ride fast any longer, them days are over.
  8. here's the link YouTube - Texas Mile ZX14 218.695mph Read the comments: The ZX-14 had NOS and was a 240 HP machine
  9. Here's my proof: Also... don't mean to burst your bubble but NO un-modified motorcycle will do an actual 220 mph. To hit 220 it takes either many thousands in mods (big Bore kit High compresion pistons, fancy rods and such, or a turbo)

A ship I was on was setting sail at about 4 am (A miles or two off shore) out of Port Canaveral when they launched a Satellite, it was wicked cool. I wish I could have seen a Shuttle launch.

    The Walking Dead on AMC

DVR is already set. Sunday night is my TV night, Dexter, Boardwalk Empire (kinda slow, but really well done), and now Walking Dead. WD takes the place of Rubicon (that I enjoyed a great deal)
  12. I'm thinking of going. My sister lives in Arlington, so I've got someplace to crash.
  13. Come on tell us what you really feel.
  14. I've been recording AMC's Rubicon since it started, but before this week I hadn't found the time to watch any of the episodes #1-#12, well I finally got around to watching some of them. Great series, I watched 1 - 9 and then my Dish Network Receiver/DVR died, so I lost episodes 10,11 & 12. Pissed me off big time! I lost dozens of hours of shows and movies that I wanted to watch. I'm going to break down and buy the Rubicon episodes that I lost from the Apple store at $2.99/Episode. Dish Network is crediting my account for two months service (approximately $120/month), but some of what I lost is difficult if not impossible to replace. Anyway.... Rubicon rules!
  15. Maybe an open back Ultrasone won't suck, but I seriously doubt it'll not suck $2750 worth. I'm sure there will be those who will like them and be looking for ways to throw their money away, but 2010 sets. Ultrasone is going to be selling these for a long long time. What they need is to get them featured in Robb Report, there's a lot of rich idiots who hunt for expensive toys.
  16. The F81's have among the purest midranges of any speaker, but they have significantly less bass, and less output capability than almost every other quality speaker. The Quad ESL63's are bass monster head banging behemoths by comparison. Apogees do dynamics well, the F81's, uh... Not so much. If all you care about is midrange then the Stax are magical, but at a severe price. Good luck.

    It's a VideoDrome charger! Cool.
  18. I'd like the Netflix streaming (I already own a Samsung Blu-Ray player that does Netflix streaming). Since I'm blind in one eye I could care less about 3D. To me the most important feature of my 83SE is the high quality dedicated 2 channel Stereo outputs (I had my 83SE Modded by Exemplar Audio to make it even better for 2 channel playback) and it appears that the 93 does NOT have dedicated Stereo outputs. The 93 only has the 7.1 analog outputs. To me this indicates that the 93 is geared more for the Video oriented enthusiast, as opposed to the Audio oriented enthusiast like some (Most?) of us. I do play Blu-Ray disc's, but for me what matters is how well it plays my SACD's, DVD-A's (Primarily in Stereo) and the occasional CD. From the announced features and specs I doubt that the 93 outperforms the 83 or especially the 83SE as far as the Audio quality is concerned.

    Boardwalk Empire

Yep. I plan on giving Boardwalk 2 episodes to see if it is worth keeping HBO for. The Season finale of True Blood was a major let down. Showtime has been doing better with their original programing. Dexter is coming back, The Big C has me watching, and I still enjoy weeds. The show I am really looking forward to is Breaking Bad, and I don't think it's due back until spring
  20. Looks nice, specs is specs. We need to see how Purty the insides is, pictures puhlease.
  21. I'm very happy with the PWD from a Sonic perspective. I'm still Beta Testing the Network Bridge, so I am withholding my final evaluation until the Beta process is over. All I can really say is that at this point I'm digging the PWD/Bridge to the point that I seriously doubt that it'll be going anywhere anytime soon. I am on the loaner list for the Audio-gd Ref 7 later this fall. I am anxious to see if the Audio-gd lives up to its HF hype.
  22. Now you're being silly. No one thinks that they compared the chips without a Power Supply, or output stage, or input receiver. He obviously was saying that they tried using both chips (and many others) and that their results led them to choose the Wolfson.
  23. The Internet has a way of hyping certain products (Products that have impressive specifications on paper, or that have well written technical jargon in their marketing), the ESS Sabre DAC's are IMO way over-hyped. They are Internet darlings. I'm not saying that they suck, just that a DAC is not good just because it uses ESS DAC chips. IMO the Power Supply and Output Stage have more to do with a DAC's sound quality than what DAC chip is used.
  24. I'm almost certain that the PWD uses a Wolfson DAC. I believe the Wyred uses a ESS (Sabre32) DAC. Paul McGowan said that they tried the ESS and that it was good, but when they heard the Wolfson they felt that the Wolfson's analog like top end was better. Based upon my experience with the PWD and the Oppo BDP-83SE I'd tend to agree. The stock BDP-83SE sounded a lot like a Benchmark DAC1 (Hyper-analytical). When Exemplar modded my BDP-83SE (It was the 1st ESS equipped unit that they had modded) John Tucker said that he thought the ESS dacs yielded wonderful resolution at the expense of musicality. It took Mr. Tucker 2 months of work to get the Mod to meet his expectations (He'd call me explaining what he was trying as the work progressed). As far as using any HDMI cable goes; Yes with a PWT. It's a proprietary connection, I haven't seen any transport other than the PWT that utilizes it. Monday I'll try to find out why the Beta Blog is unaccessible.
  25. Yep, drives my HE-5LE better than my Audio-gd Phoenix did. Sold my Phoenix and Pocketed the difference.
