Most of the so-called information stated in that post have no basis in fact. Example: ?Contrary to popular Government lore, "the cost of injuries caused by unhelmeted riders" are not borne by the Taxpayers. First of all, even the Government admits that helmets are only effective in a narrow band of accident situations. In most accidents, helmets do not affect the survivability outcome at all.? Inaccurate and misleading. The fact is that most accident are fairly minor and don?t involve head injury, but a large percentage of fatal accidents do involve head injury. The use of a helmet significantly reduces the chance of serious head injury. The authors? proof that helmets cause accidents is wearing one in a car. WTF! Severely faulty logic. It?s a totally different environment, you know enclosed, with limited space. The author uses such faulty logic throughout his nonsensical diatribe. As far as the argument that taxpayers don?t end up paying additional monies for the care of people who have been injured. That?s nonsense as well. A major head injury can cost millions of dollars when including the long-term care, and we mustn?t forget Social Security disability payments for people who have become disabled. Insurance runs out very quickly when major injuries are involved. The author states that helmets ?cause? many accidents, and yet provides no basis for this statement. Many studies have shown that helmets do NOT adversely affect vision and hearing. If this is the best info that you can find supporting your anti-helmet stance your actual data is severely lacking. I've owned Logans (CLS IIz) and I've sold logans, and I've toured the factory. I have never heard of them selling directly to consumers. That doesn't mean that they don't or won't. Mr. Sanders sold the company a few months ago so who knows what the new owners will do.

As to riding for years without a license goes, some people are just ass holes. Were you afraid that you?d fail the test? You?re right that having a license does not make you a good rider, but it does guarantee that you have learned a little about the basics of riding. Why get a license? First off your insurance isn?t valid if you don?t have a valid operators license. If you?ve ridden for years without having an accident you are lucky. In the event of a major accident an insurance investigator could easily discover that a rider doesn?t have a license, and then deny all claims. I?m a big proponent of personal freedom, but you are deluding yourself if you believe that you only affect yourself if you have an accident. When you crash and scramble your brains and end up on a ventilator for years who is going to pay? Society ends up footing the bill; therefore society has the right to dictate whether or not helmets are required. I feel that it?s a personal choice to wear a helmet, but if you decide to go helmetless you should be required to have much higher medical insurance limits. Helmetless riders should also be charged higher insurance premiums. It is an established fact that wearing a helmet reduces the likelihood of major injury in the event of an accident.

The Denon repair shop finally finished last week. I then had them send the player to Exemplar Audio. EA is going to do a quick update. Hopefully it?ll be done any day. Then a week shipping back home. I?ve been (Quality) source-less since March. :'( I think I?m going to have to find another quality source that I?ll use in my bedroom, and as a backup for my main system.

Work is progressing. It begins to look like the amps might be done by September. In discussing the topology and structural design we?re getting very excited about this project. The prospect of having a one (Two actually. One for me and one for him) off attack on the state of the art headphone amp is beginning to become an obsession. By the way a couple of people were right. The builder and designer is John Tucker. This amp may make it into limited production, although that is not his intent, nor is it mine. After modifying my ASL MG Head OTL/32 we were amazed at the performance that was achieved by this humble little amp. John worked miracles on the OTL/32. Ask people who have heard my Exemplar OTL/32, everyone who has heard it has raved about it. We haven?t even talked about what the amp is going to cost. My guess is that it won?t be as expensive as the Noise Duality 300B Amp. It also won?t be as large, or as cool looking, although we are looking towards a high level of fit n finish.
