So no one actually knows that a fire was ever started by a Raptor. You guys are awful, spreading unsubstantiated rumors. If you know for a fact that a Raptor has started a fire you should by all means speak out, on the other hand spreading what amounts to nothing more than a rumor is a wholly different thing. You don?t like Ray, fine. Spread the truth, or spread your opinions. Spreading unsubstantiated rumors proves that you are major scumbag pussy fuckwads of unparalleled proportions.

House Fire Where? Who? When? and we know the supposed why.

I?ve been waiting for the back-order status to be over. I finally ordered when I thought the B/O was over and done with. I?m patient as far as waiting to order, but once I pull the trigger I am decidedly impatient.
-
Haj, thanks for the link. I have the Siltech wire ready for my 701 recable. Now all I need is the freaking headphones. They have been "On Order" from AKG for 6 weeks now :'(
-
Anyone have a link to the thread on Head-Fi with pictures of recabling the 601's? I searched today but couldn't find it.

If you'd never spend that much for an amp regardless of its performance then you are obviously not the target market.

I really wanted to like the ZD. I dig its looks. Something else. When I listened to the ZD it was being driven by the EMM labs source. The B52 was being driven by a Meridian 508. The EMM is in the absolute top tier of sources. The 508 is down in the 3rd or 4th tier. Are you sure that you were being drawn in by the ZD, or the source?

It would be easier to list the amps that I haven?t tried with my SA5000s. At the meet I did try most other amps that can lay some type of claim to being exceptional. Bozebuttons Melos (Heavily modified ? It?s about as original as my ASL OTL/32 is). This amp impressed mightily. If I was in the market and one was available I?d buy one and have it modded. More transparent than the B52, but its bass and dynamics weren?t as powerful. The Zana Deux must not have liked my Sonys. The Rudistor NX-33 was sort of un-involving, kind of flat. ES-1/HE-90 ? If I had the money I?d buy them. Mikhails other amps ? Every time I tried to listen Mikhail started playing with the tubes. On previous auditions I have liked everything from a PPX-3 Slam to a loaded SDS XLR. Is the B52 worth $5000? It?s a great amp. Is any amp worth $5000? If you have the money and are looking for a world class amp I?d say it is one to be considered. Just like with anything else, it?s totally subjective. I didn't feel the B52, so I have no clue as to if it runs hot.

Considering the overwhelmingly negative sentiment on Head-Case regarding RSA and its designs I have up until now stayed silent. I defer to KG technical expertise. I do read most of the anti-Ray propaganda that is posted. I believe that all of this propaganda has given me a slight predisposition against liking the Sonics of RSA?s products. It is with this predisposition that I attended this weekends NYC meet. I tend to pay attention to products that might be considered very high end. I already own what I consider to be the finest portable amp so I had little interest in listening to the new Tomahawk or even the Hornet, so I won?t comment on their performance or value except to say that they are very attractive and seem to be well built. The RSA amp that interests me is the B52. I spent a significant amount of time seriously auditioning the B52. I used my Siltech re-cabled balanced Sony MDR SA-5000s. I don?t care what KG says about the driving capabilities of the B52. It drove my 70-ohm SA-5000s exceptionally well. As far as I am concerned the B52 should definitely be counted among the elite amplifiers currently being manufactured. The B52s strengths were tremendous dynamics, bass slam and definition. Nothing in the B52s sonic presentation struck me as being wrong or anything less than 1st rate. The amp is also extremely well built and ruggedly attractive, however if I were to buy one I would request one with silver knobs not the tacky gold color. Examining a product on its technical merit is all good and well, but I am a subjectivist. Ultimately it is a products sound quality that matters to me. KG may be correct stating that the B52 can?t drive low impedances. At least as far as my Sonys and I are concerned he is incorrect. Based upon KG statements I was expecting the amp to be unable to handle my relatively low impedance SA-5000s I was therefore extremely critical in my evaluation. I was pleasantly surprised that the B52 is really an exceptional amplifier. IMHO anyone shopping for an amp in this rarefied price bracket owes it to themselves to at least audition the B52, it really is that good. Some may accuse me of being a Billy like shill. To them I will have to say F.U.! If I were a shill I would have come out of the woodwork long before now.

God damn fucking moderators!! The arbitrary and capricious enforcement of the ?Rules? really pisses me off . Does anyone want to go start a forum where there will be NO RULES . This is truly the only way enforcement will ever be impartial. There is a big difference between a little vulgarity and actually threatening someone. I agree that threatening someone is going too far. Why not just call them a Fucking Idiot back? There is no reason to go beyond verbal (Vulgar) abuse. We have often heard here that if you have a thin skin this isn?t the place for you. I for one do not want to fear having a delicious brownie jammed into my ears and then being slapped around all the while being called Susan at the next meet (tomorrow).

Congrats! Let us know if it's better than your Aleph.

I could be wrong but I believe that grounding is critical. Grounding gives an exit path for the RF. Without grounding it could make matters worse, sort of a RF resonant chamber. Of course it?s easy enough to try it both ways.

TOS-Link is the lowest quality digital connection. Try to get a card with a RCA SPDIF (or even better BNC ) and use a 75 ohm coaxial cable.

If it appears that he is buying elsewhere ?Low? and selling ?High? on Head-Fi then he is making a business of it. If this bothers you and you don?t mind being a squealing rat bastard then by all means report him. What you?ve described is theoretically against the rules. Report him and let the highly impartial moderators decide.
-
Not enough information. What are you using as a transport? If you want to use the DAC with your computer, does your computer have a SPDIF output? What bit-rate are your files in? Do you own the discs? Or are you a downloading fool?

I?m sure that there is a republican congressman somewhere who would also like to get in ?touch? with your inner child.

Before I vote I need to know if you?re talking about the piece of shit imposter Tuberoller recently seen here, or the real piece of shit Tuberoller on Head-Fi?* *I have nothing against the real Tuberoller, it just is funnier said like this.

Whatever happened to the Moon-Audio amp?
Yikes replied to humanflyz's topic in Headphone Amplification
I thought that the amp sounded very good at the national. It's a no nonsense product. Drew hasn't added $200 in casework to boost the price by $1000 I haven't heard of anyone taking the plunge. -
I?ve fired a S&W 500 Magnum, it?s a beast. I don?t consider it a ?real world? hand gun. I prefer a smaller more manageable weapon. This is my pea shooter.

I got my player back on Wednesday. I left work early to rush home and hook it up? It still has the exact same problem. I shipped it back again, for the last time. To say that I am discouraged is an understatement. This is the 7th or possibly the 8th time in for repair. A couple of times it went express, the rest it shipped ground. At this point I am up to around $400 for shipping alone, plus the $200 the initial ?repair? cost. 7 months, Fuck! JT at Exemplar thinks that there must be a crack in a circuit board that periodically causes the problem. It?s definitely the Denon circuitry that?s malfunctioning. The Denon repair shop has one last chance to fix the problem. If I get the unit back and it still has a problem the unit will be replaced. We are discussing that option right now. At this point I sort of feel about my player the way I have always felt about a car or motorcycle that has been in an accident. It may be ?repaired?, but I don?t want to drive/ride it any longer. The truth is that I am numb concerning the entire experience. I?m beyond being mad or disappointed, I just want it to be over.

Sometimes I miss hockey terribly. I had Bruins season seats back in 87,88,89 (When they were good). I have been sort of boycotting the Bruins. I got tired of Jeremy Jacobs (Owner) being the cheapest fucker in all of sports. My all time greatest sports moment was in 86 when the Flyers took Edmonton to 7 games in the finals. I went to games 4 and 6 in Philadelphia. The excitement in the Spectrum was unbelievable. If Jeremy Jacobs sold the Bruins I?d get season tickets again. I won?t give that greedy bastard one-cent. Not that I feel strongly about it.

For those who liked the SA5k, how is the K701; part b: PPX3 pairing?
Yikes replied to Nanoha's topic in Headphones
I like both the 701's and the 5000's. I prefer the stock 701's to the stock 5000's. The 701's are just ever so slightly warmer than the 5000's. More specifically the 701's lack the slight high frequency distortion that the 5000's exhibit. This high frequency distortion is why the 5000's are generally perceived of as being bright. Both are wonderfully detailed and transparent headphones, with the nod going to the K701?s. -
AKG loaned me a set last fall. They were in such short supply that they made me return them. I have a re-cabled set of Sony MDR SA5000?s. I feel that stock AKG K701?s beat stock 5000?s. My 5000?s are much better than stock, so I am very curious to see how the 701?s do against my 5000?s. Then I?ll re-cable the 701?s to really push the envelope.
-
I found out that the 701?s are currently on backorder, so it?s going to be at least a couple of weeks before they ship to me . I was hoping that I could break them in, and re-cable them in time for the early November NY meet. It looks like that will be cutting it a little tight.

Back in the late 80?s I owned a set of Lambda Pros, really loved them. I have a pretty good memory for things audio, but from memory; The difference between the 02?s and the Lambdas is that the Lambdas have sort of this whitish sheen (Very slight) over everything and the 02?s don?t. I lament selling them. The store that I was working at burned down, and while I was on unemployment I was forced to sell them to keep myself in Beer.
