I just bought back my old PPA v2 with the zebrawood case. I had been plotting a β22, but realized it wasn't in the budget. So when my old amp popped up locally, I decided to snatch it up. I always remembered it as a poor match with my Grados, but I'll be damned, it sounds fan-fucking-tastic with my HF-1s. Detailed, controlled, no harshness and great imaging. It's a nice companion to the Millett.

I'm not with Opera.

Offer still stands for my place on a Sunday provided numbers stay reasonable.

Nate and I checked this out and tonight and wow... Just... Wow. I thought everything about it was great... The performances, the interviews... Definitely worth checking out.

At one point I had both, each with STEPS and 637/627 opamps. I preferred the PPA v2 for my Senns, and I didn't really care for either with Grados. So I sold the M3. Once I sold my 650/Zu, the PPA v2 was the next to go. The PPA v2 struck me as more detailed throughout, and the M3 added just a bit of warmth.

I definitely thought the second episode was stronger than the premier. It looks like it's moving in the right direction.

Well played.

I haven't been able to get the playlist to load up on the album cover. The mirrored shadow only shows up for me without a background. -

Well, you can click the square icon in the bottom right corner and it makes all of the library info on the right go away. I usually only have that up for browsing. Then the Now Playing info recenters. And the file info below can also be turned off just by clicking it. Here it is with no background and the library and file info areas turned off. -
While I was waiting for this to air, I have to admit, I didn't go in with much in the way of expectations. But I have to say... I enjoyed the hell out of the premier. Things I liked: * Summer Glau as Cameron * The rest of the cast * Starting it a few years after T2 * How they got to current day * Did I mention Summer Glau? Things I didn't like: * The horrible tatoo cover-up on Lena Headey's arms and back * The stupid "Class Dismissed" line There was lots of action, the acting was solid throughout and the story could be interesting. So it's definitely got my attention for the next few episodes, and considering the lack of new TV out there, it will have to get pretty bad for me to give up on it.

Yeah, it's the top of the Fox Confessor... CD. I really like the drawing, and considering the obscene number of times I spin that disc, it seemed appropriate! -

What is your current project, or what will be your next project?

Wow, Nate. You finally picked one of your many projects! Wuhoo!!! -
I hear that... I did pick a bad winter to go from a Jeep with full-time AWD and limited slip differentials front and rear to an overpowered FWD car with crappy TC and no snow tires. But considering my commute is a little over 2 miles, I'll deal. I <3 snow!

I was bored last night and got fofr configured on my HTPC. I'm having trouble with one of the components but for the most part it's in good shape, and it has a great balance of functionality and eye candy. -
Yeah, this isn't the first I've read about it recently, either. I figured it was worth posting here because quite a few members seemed to think highly of The Divine Conspiracy. I'm so impressed with her growth as a singer, and I really do hope she can come back 100%.

\ Needless to say, this kind of news sucks. I had heard she'd had a rough go of it lately, and this explains a lot. Hopefully she will get healthy soon.

Each of my last two have both almost been Miss Kitty Fantastico.

How has your rig changed in 2007? And do you have any future plans?

Well, my trusty $40 DCD-815 has been getting louder and having more trouble initializing discs, so its replacement is on the way. I found a DCD-1015, which is actually a much nicer looking player from the same year, and looks to be in even better shape than the 815 was. Short money vintage replacements kick ass. Auction pics: -

There's a lot to be said for that. One of my cats was found for me. She was the runt and was abandoned by the mother to die @ 2 weeks old. She stays 10-15' away from me almost all the time, and can be a real pain in the ass. I went to the SPCA a few years ago to get another cat, and there were a couple that seemed nice enough. But the one I got just wouldn't leave me alone. She followed me around the room, climbed up the cages to get me to pet her and couldn't get enough attention. I almost didn't get her because she was older (7 years) and had been hit by a car at some point, and as a result was down an eye and one of her canines, so her tongue keeps sticking out. Needless to say, she's a goofy looking cat. But after having cats (and dogs) my whole life, she is the most affectionate cat I've ever come across. She picked me and I'm glad she did.

I changed from my Denon DVD-4800 to a Denon DCD-815 CD Player and a Denon DA-500 DAC. Still have the 4800... A universal player that only plays Redbook doesn't get a lot of interest in the FS ads! The 4800 should theoretically be better than the mid-90s vintage Denon gear, but I like the versatility. I also received a SMC EZStream wireless media streamer as a kick-ass birthday gift, which kicked the iPod and dock out. CDs are great and all, but it's so nice to be able to access anything I own without having to sort through piles and piles of discs. And the mod that added an optical out was a nice addition, allowing me to use it with the DA-500 which acts as a digital switchbox (3 optical inputs, 2 coaxial inputs) as well as a DAC. Still using my Millett Hybrid, the same Tung Sol 12FK6 tubes, and my HF-1. Though I did go from mahogany cups to zebrawood cups on the HF-1. Does that count?
