I'm amazed at what a difference the PPA has made with the EW9s. With the mini3, there was always a bit of an upper-midrange glare that could be fatiguing, even with the warm-ish DA-500. But that glare is gone and I'm left with a sound that while lacking some weight in the low end, is fairly balanced and very good with almost Grado like mids. It should be noted I'm running some EQ in foobar to boost the bottom end of the the EW9s.

Just figured I'd x2 this sentiment. I bought my PPA v2 back a few months ago, but it had gotten little use since picking it back up. So I decided to upgrade my amp at work, setting the PPA v2 with my 2nd DA-500 today. It required reconfiguring my entire workspace, but it's definitely worth it. It definitely seems like overkill to have a stack of full-size components for a pair of AT clip-ons, but it doesn't bother me. And it sounds great with the DAC and headphones with its 637-627-637 opamp configuration.

Good to hear first hand experiences backs up everything I've read. The idea of of training a dog from scratch isn't a problem, and I'm lucky that I work in an office with dogs already. So he or she will be welcome there and won't be left home along much at all.

Choirs of the Eye is amazing. "The Antique" is probably my favorite track of theirs, so I'll have to DL it. Dowsing Anemone With Copper Tongueis definitely a little more out there. I tend to listen to them both in a row, so they aren't completely separate entities in my head. And their new one, Blue Lambency Downward has leaked. I've only given it a spin or two, but it will definitely be purchased once it comes out. Speaking of purchasing leaked albums, I just picked up: Portishead - Third And got a free 7" single of "Machine Gun". Definitely quite the polarizing album... There seems to be little middle ground for fans. They seem to love it or hate it. I'm definitely in the love it camp, and think it's quite an achievement. I'm really looking forward to giving the final product a spint.

x2... Michaels irrational hatred of Toby is one of my favorite parts of the show. When he tries to unload Toby to Karen's branch... Man, I laugh my ass off every time. "I'm sorry, that was a bluff. Toby's the worst." Considering he's one of the writers, I can't imagine he'll go far.
