  1. Hahaha, no worries. The GF took me out to dinner, so we stopped by the local record store and I picked it up. I won't have much time to listen to it tonight, but I'm going to make damn sure to get it ripped and loaded on the iPhone for work tomorrow!
  2. To hell with him! How did I miss this?
  3. Install has yet to be completed on the GF's 3G... Keeps getting hung up backing up, despite syncing immediately before attempting the upgrade. The hang up was lasting long enough that it was pissing off the laptop to the point where it was shutting down! I think it was overheating... Ugh.
  4. Wow, everything seems MUCH snappier on my 32 GB 3GS. 1 minute in an I declare iOS4 a winner!!!
  5. Breakfast for the GF and my parents. Not only was it Father's Day, but it's also my parents' 40th wedding anniversary. Then followed it up with a copy of the new Lewis Black CD for my dad, who loves him... Maybe more than is natural!
  6. New Rasputina... Sister Kinderhook Pre-ordered, so DL was available a week early. So far, so very, very good. I the cello!!!
  7. While not iPhone related, holy hell Safari 5.0 is fast!!!
  8. Everything, or just the fantasy stuff? I really like Summer of Night, and the books that follow up with the characters from that one (especially A Winter Haunting), and The Terror. I was disappointed with Drood, struggled to finish Carrion Comfort and couldn't get into any of the fantasy stuff at all.
  9. Ohhhhhhh... How is it?
  10. Finally available!!!
  11. A big thing nobody has mentioned is prototyping costs. If you're going to sell 1,000 amps, you can spread prototyping costs out over those units and they have a negligible effect on mark-up. But an amp at that price point is likely expected to sell very limited numbers, especially when looking at sales for the 307A. I'd imagine there was a sizable investment into getting this thing right, and that is likely reflected in the price.
  12. I've been reading a ton lately with all of my travelling. Christopher Moore's Bite me was very entertaining, and I really liked Shutter Island. Just finished: Horns by Joe Hill I'm not sure I enjoyed it as much as Heart Shaped Box, or the AMAZING 20th Century Ghost Stories. But it was still quite good. Now I can get back to finishing the latest from his father, which was just too damn heavy for me to have to carry around on the plane!
  13. Yeah, I clearly skipped over that whole I own a Jeep thing. Whoops!
  14. Sorry to hear about Lily's "adventure" but it's good to hear she's taking it in stride. Lauren & I went up to my folks' place today. She went to a Mother's Day yoga class with my mom, and my dad and I went up to the cabin and took the hard top off for storage for the summer. The snow was unexpected! But it wasn't enough to keep us from swapping tops, and the soft top is on and ready for nicer days ahead.
  15. Last day in Jacksonville and the conference ended @ noon, so I swung by the beach. What a surprise... The water is a little warmer in Florida than is in Maine!
  16. No jokin'!!!
  17. I deserved that...
  18. As you know, for better or worse, once I decide something, it usually doesn't take long at all!
  19. Happy to have arrived at my hotel in Jacksonville. Need to go but a few blocks north in the morning for ASCE Ports 2010, a 4-day conference on ports, drydocks, berthing and the like. Yup, as exciting as it sounds...
  20. Dell Mini 10v running OSX 10.6.3 Didn't keep the Mac Mini long enough to really get a feel for OSX... Considering the high cost of entry for a MacBook / MacBook Pro, I wanted a chance to play around with it a bit and get to know it before plunking down the coin required for a real Mac. I've had a chance to explore a bit and my world is officially rocked. And I'm quite impressed at how snappy the netbook is running it. Despite the success of the iPad, I'm shocked that Apple couldn't find a way to justify a 10" MacBook Mini or something. The form factor is fantastic, fits in my carry on and to be honest, I prefer the size of it at home for typical web browsing as well. The 15" Lenovo feels way too big after a little time is spent with this thing. Pretty sure the girlfriend and I will be saving for a real Mac later in the summer... Probably a 13" MacBook Pro, which seems to have the best balance of portability, performance and screen real estate.
  21. Still in transit to Jacksonville, FL for a conference for work. Currently at the airport in Charlotte.
  22. Watched the last 5 episodes of Castle... I had fallen way behind, and forgot how much I love this show. Now into the 4th episode of the first season of Angel... Thanks Netflix streaming!
  23. Tried to view this during my lunch break on my iPhone and can't... Flash strikes again!!!
  24. Re-upped with Netflix... Between streaming through my TiVo and an (allegedly) upcoming iPhone app, it seemed like time.
