  1. Looking forward to this... It's all queued up on the Kindle. Just need to finish Bitten, another of your recommendations!
  2. Thanks for the input everyone. I have to admit, the SSD suggestions were unexpected, and I'll definitely keep one in mind.
  3. Looking at getting a 13" MacBook Pro, and am trying to decide which one to get... 2.4 GHz Core2Duo, 4 GB RAM, 250 GB HD or 2.66 GHz Core2Duo, 4 GB RAM, 320 GB HD, which can be had for $260 more. Is the performance bump between the 2.4 & 2.66 worth while for $215, knowing the 250 GB to 320 GB HD upgrade is a $45 upcharge? Thoughts? Input? And no, I don't want to wait for the rumored new model in a few months. I'm not liking what I'm hearing.
  4. Invicta 0570 Skeleton Watch It arrived today. I really, really like it. And can't beat the price.

    Meet Neko!

Considering my Neko's level of activity and ability to curl up and sleep for hours on end, we often joke that she's a big cat that poops outside, so an entirely appropriate (if unintentional) choice.

    Meet Neko!

Yup! And I'll agree... Cute, and while you didn't need them, huge bonus points for the rescue. Posty FTMFW!

    Meet Neko!

Can't say I can find fault in the name! My Neko welcomes yours to the life as the dog of a Head-Caser!
  8. Is there any way to maintain the previous "New Post" functionality? Before it would post the most recent unread, going back 100 or so posts. Now it will only post since my last visit, which makes keeping up with things more difficult. If I don't get a chance to read everything, I won't see unread items from a previous visit.
  9. Just came back to post the same thing... Trying to fix my avatar.
  10. Also agree that the mobile site is amazing. Great job Todd!
  11. It definitely matters to me. This ability has come in handy more times than I can count. And with the exception of my folks' place, the coverage everywhere I frequent is pretty good.
  12. I'd have to say as an over GUI look, my order of preference is probably 1. PalmOS, 2. (tie) iOS, Windows Phone, 3. Android. PalmOS appears to be the most polished. I like the iOS interface, and I think they've balanced usability with simplicity pretty well. I like Windows Phone, and the live tiles and new interface quite a bit. And last I would have to put Android and its various manufacturer skins. I don't care for the look, primarily because it looks borderline cartoonish and not polished to me. I'd probably put HTC's Sense 1st, but I always liked their non-Android home screens. As to the iOS notification issue, I do like how Palm and Android handle the more subtle notifications. But I also only have push notification on for things I really want to know, so I rare when I don't want to switch to a notification (usually new email or text) if I get it. So I honestly don't find iOS notifications that intrusive. Screen size? Large is nice, but I don't even like the feel of my iPhone in my pocket with a case adding to its overall size. So anything bigger would certainly have to omit a keyboard and go very thin for me to consider it. And I've heard a few female friends complain of the size of some of the smaller Android phones, so I'd imagine screen sizes > 4" will not meet with widespread acceptance with women (or men with small hands... carnies perhaps?)
  13. No, your post is WTF?
  14. I thought Honeycomb was tablet-only... I didn't think it was ever destined for smart phones.
  15. I have to admit I've been drawn to the closed/stable side of things with Apple. Though I will agree that iTunes is a liability. I've had a major, well-known problem with no fix lately... iTunes can't synch or copy music to my iPhone without screwing up the album art. Art is still correct on the computer, but once its copied, the iPhone can't seem to keep it straight. There's no rhyme or reason on which art will end up with which album. Thankfully, they haven't completely shut out third-part programs. Media Monkey successfully transferred my 26 GB or so of music to my iPhone with album art intact. Having the incorrect art was driving me crazy!
  16. Did our first wedding registry at Bed, Bath and Beyond... Out of everything, registering seems to make it the most real. Holy shit, I'm actually getting married!
  17. Double Post.
  18. Unfortunately, my government job has left me unable to spend my day looking for new music. Sad panda. I loved Rasputina's Sister Kinderhook and Zo
  19. It really was a hell of an entertaining read. There were just some classic moments.
  20. Just read Apathy and Other Small Victories and thought it was fantastic. I LOL'd.
  21. I think PJ's most accessible and strongest is Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea. The best balance to my ears.
  22. (4) 265/75R16 Goodyear MT/R with Kevlar for my Wrangler Unlimited. $220+ each new, Craigslist find with < 8k miles, $400 for all 4. Woot!
  23. Listened to a great podcast on espn.com with Bill Simmons discussing the whole thing with Bill Carter, who wrote this: Amazon.com: The War for Late Night: When Leno Went Early and Television Went Crazy (9780670022083): Bill Carter: Books It was really interesting to hear more of the back story, and I'm leaning towards picking this up for an upcoming trip.
  24. My big problem was serious pixelation and blocking, with horrible, sibilant audio no matter what the movie/TV episode was. Audio starts out great now, and the video starts a little rough, but it settles in very quickly with excellent HD-ish quality. Same bandwidth, but the TiVo handles it as poorly as the PS3 handles it well.
  25. Got this up and running on my PS3 last night. Muuuuuch better interface than on my TiVo HD. And the picture and audio quality were both significantly better as well. I'll probably start taking advantage of the streaming more now.
