  1. This. I've been very happy and it hasn't steered me wrong yet.
  2. Mumford and Sons - Babel
  3. Very happy that this came out yesterday... Murder by Death - Bitter Drink, Bitter Moon
  4. Yeah, DSO is in hand. UneXpect is on its way. Stolen Babies will be soon. Thanks again for the heads up!
  5. It really was pretty awesome. There were also cars to climb over and tires to run through. And lots and lots of mud!
  6. Whoa, I didn't know there were new albums for either DSO or UneXpect. Thanks for posting!
  7. My wife Lauren did the Warrior Dash with her twin sister Elise and Elise's boyfriend, Eric. It was a 5k with 10 obstacles, including mud with barbed wire, climbing walls and fire! I was on pup duty and was the official family photographer. I used Lauren's D700 with the 50mm f1.4D and was pretty happy with the results. Of course, these are also with her touch in Lightroom, which is good 'cause they were a little over exposed. It looked like so much fun that I'll have to join them and run it next year!
  8. While not strictly kitty related, we do joke that she's a giant kitty that poops outside... The day I adopted her, and 4 or so years later:
  9. I have a couple of pictures of my kitties that I get a kick out of... First is Zoe... Second is Koshka, who has been stealing the dog's bed lately. We bought her one of her own, but she still prefers Neko's...
  10. While I'm sure the early reviews regarding the speed of the iPhone 5 have a lot to do with the new A6 chip, it seems at least some of it can be attributed to optimization within the OS. Everything from app launching and switching to work within apps is much more fluid and quicker on my 4s. Lauren noticed it with her 4 as well.
  11. Oh yeah... My favorite new feature, by far, is the full-screen view in Safari landscape. Makes viewing full websites significantly easier.
  12. Google is working on a stand-alone app, but there isn't an option to keep the old Maps app once you upgrade. It may have taken getting booted out of iOS for them to offer turn-by-turn for Apple devices. Should (eventually) be win-win because the competition for data will drive each app to improve.
  13. The upgrade to iOS6 OTA on my 4s was painless. Seems snappier... No ill effects so far. Most people who aren't fans are those who used Maps a lot. I never used it, so the changes and addition of turn by turn may get me to switch from Navigon. Time will tell.
  14. How is it?
  15. Arches, and Moab in general, is my #1 priority. I have long been an offroad/Jeep guy, and the Easter Jeep Safari will be attended! I had hoped it would be next spring, but it's looking unlikely. Which is just as well, since the Jeep needs a few things before it will really be Moab-ready.
  16. Finally getting around to Stephen King's 11/22/63. About a third of the way in and have enjoyed it very much so far.
  17. Azure Ray - As Above So Below (EP)
  18. Thanks everyone. You guys rock! Great day so far, and a quiet night at home with the wife to look forward to.
  19. Have to disagree... After Bryan Fuller left mid-first season, the show started a dive, which the second season did not avert. Season 1 holds up pretty well, but Season 2 just doesn't hold a candle to Season 1. And do not, I repeat, DO NOT, watch the direct to DVD follow-up movie. While I enjoy his other series, including Pushing Daisies, I would say Wonderfalls fits the bill for this thread. Cancelled part way through its first season, but allowed to finish filming and wrap up, I feel it benefitted from cancellation in the sense that I don't know how sustainable it would've been. As a 14 episode run, it's damn near perfect.
  20. Starting Fringe from the beginning. Started it back in Season 1, missed a few episodes mid-way through and never caught back up. Now that it's been added to Amazon Prime, I can give it a fresh start.
  21. The best thing about Lauren buying the D700? I got my D70/35mm 1.8G back! Trip to Seattle for training. Got a few pics I really liked.
  22. Read In the Shadow of Gotham. Quite good. Early 20th century murder mystery in the Hudson Ricer valley. Reading Gone Girl now. Really good so far. I like traveling. I get a lot of alone time to read. Miss Lauren, the pup and the kitties, and really looking forward to gettin home, but lots if reading is never a bad thig.
  23. It's like you took everything I like, combined it, searched for it and then posted a link to it. Consider me very intrigued. Thanks!
