  1. It's "vvvvvt-vvvvvt" dummy.
  2. It's my understanding that you don't get one without the other.
  3. I think it sounds better for the same reasons star grounding is a good idea. And I think you should piss on your fence and take fucking pictures.
  4. Holy Shit! What the fuck is that bullshit?
  5. I've noticed the Etys have quite a bit of harmonic distortion. It could be that; I'll look into it at some point.
  6. Totally fucking guessing here, but I think it's air being over-compressed between the driver and the fabric coverings.
  7. Man, it looks great with headphones on it. Very cool. And the box is wicked sweet. I don't know how you manage to get the joints so fine, Steve. Congrats to both of you.
  8. Brightness = bad.
  9. I'm an idiot, I might have said Sennheiser when I meant Sony.
  10. I thought the QC15 was good, but not the QC3. I thought the top-end Sony was good too. The Sennheisers kinda sucked.
  11. You're crazy ... but you still may be right. I came across this in measuring: It appears that the LCD-2 is storing a little energy, and releasing is some 400uSec later. The second bump on the 300Hz square wave, and the little lump of wiggle after the spike on the impulse response may indicate what you guys are talking about. 400uSec is not a long time, but it is about the timescale of the inter-aural time difference between ears with a 30 degree off axis speaker, so it's right at about the timescales that are used for localization, and I would expect your brain is able to make something of the artifact. Whether this is the source of the "reverby" sound, I don't know, but it's possible.
  12. ......tick ...... tick ..... tick ....
  13. Oh ... dude ... you have no idea. Fucking truthy trueism there. I think your brain compensates a bit and know how much energy is around whether it's sealed properly or not, but OMG positioning make huge differences in many ways.
  14. Aw shit, I'm late. Happy b-day anyway! Hope you had a good one.
  15. I think the whole back and forth between the two guys in the various fora is spectacularly invigorating. Like post-post-modern ecomerce: Who do you love, bitch? Both of you. So I'll buy both apps and have __________this_______opinion. But I'm buying both appps so I get to see you fuckers slug it out. So far, both guys seem lovely to me. I'd stil take iPeng if I had to give one up.
  16. What's the output impedance of the Benchmark? It'll surely swing enough voltage.
  17. Anybody prefer Squeezepad over iPeng? iPeng seems a bit buggier to me ... I'd have it hang up every other day or so. But it's freedom from the Slim menu paradigm, and multi-player and server attachment control seemed to make it way better. Squeezepad seemed like a remote on steroids; but the iPeng felt like a lifestyle app. Izzat about right?
  18. No way. They're nearly the same. In fact, when the fire happened I saw what looked like parts interchanged. Um...the fabric between the drivers and the ear, for one. Anyway, the difference isn't much in my estimation. Most of the 600/650 diffence chatter is just that, IMHO.
  19. Bionetic, baby. That whole line was terrible sounding. Except for the relly cheap ones of the same era. Can't remember the models.
  20. Kevin, what's the cost of building one of these, roughly. I'm thinking of getting in on this.
  21. Turkeyday? Already? Okay, I wanna see pix of you cramming the candles into thigh. Happy Birfday, mate!
  22. I've never had such a confining experience on a computer. Got the MBP Model Name: MacBook Pro Model Identifier: MacBookPro6,2 Processor Name: Intel Core i7 Processor Speed: 2.66 GHz Number Of Processors: 1 Total Number Of Cores: 2 L2 Cache (per core): 256 KB L3 Cache: 4 MB Memory: 4 GB Processor Interconnect Speed: 4.8 GT/s But I can't load any software or update without tying to the mother ship and having Gerry in New York play with my box. (It's not nearly so thrilling as it sounds.) All that shit aside, it's a lovely machine.
