  1. Yeah baby, I'm in the "Big One!" This isnot safe for work, but critical information for those concerned with flaming Japanese Zombie vaginas. Without doubt, a worthy topic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOxJwV9yMiU&feature=youtu.be
  2. Well, I guess I'm going to have to do a little checking on my balanced outs or sumpin'. :/
  3. It's kitteh .gif day!
  4. Yeah, I know, He'll stumble across it eventually and have a good laugh. I'll be talking to him soon enough.
  5. ^^^ Nope. Only the Volcano. Maybe I can borrow the switcher from Todd sometime soon and report back. Todd? Todd?? Is this thing on?
  6. Just a headphone amp. Balanced in from the Audio Precision balanced outs. Polarity should be right through the amp as it drive regular headphones in proper polarity. Positive going signal creates positive pressure pressure at the ear.
  7. ^^^ Huh ... didn't know that. It was from a HeadRoom balanced desktop so I think pin 2 is hot. 'Mercan standard?
  8. Holy Shit! This is fucking amazing! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/wildlife/8861852/Eagle-brings-down-paraglider-over-Himalayas.html
  9. ^^ Sponge Bob has troubles.
  10. Thanks, mate. I need to do a lot more of those primers .... (fucking rapper cans.) I tend to think the reference of live sound is hard to translate to headphones. One thing I think does translate well is the human voice. It's something we hear a LOT, so we're naturally familiar with it. I think extraordinarily so. So I like to listen to vocals carefully, listening to the timbre of the voice and how convincingly real it is. Other than that, I think the best thing you can have when evaluating headphones is having heard a LOT of them. I also think Steve Guttenberg was right in his article at innerfideilty about his reference tracks: that extreme familiarity with personal set of very good recordings used specifically for evaluation is important. Combine lots of experience with headphones and the personal test tracks, and it can be a pretty quick process to get a "read" on a pair of headphones.
  11. Using an Arete and Volcano for testing Audeze cans, and had a Peak here for a couple of months some time ago. Just mark me down as a "+1" on everything blessingx said. These are clean amps without being sterile in the least. The tube on the Peak just makes for some extra fun. Sorry Shelly, I think you do want one.
  12. ^^^ Here's one to help interpret news reporters:
  13. River crossing in Vietnam.
  14. Hot soup, grilled cheese samitches, and intertoobs tonight for Knucks! Yay!
  15. FWIW, I'm not so sure I'm "gaga" over them anymore. Details eventually ... one thing about being a professional is that you feel the pressure to be right. My reviews are pretty simple affairs on the surface, but when I'm writing them I'm very aware of the need to be "right." (Whatever that means; as right as I can be, I guess.) So, I think one of the differences between pro reviews and member reviews is that the consequences for error are much steeper as a pro, so there's a lot more at stake (a reputation you get paid to have) ... if you take it seriously.
  16. Thought for the day:
  17. Stay warm, Knucks. Been trying extra hard to put stuff in Slower Forum .... but lack your mad chops.
  18. Say Birgir, what's the deal with all the out-of-polarity measurements? Are they just wired up that way? Is the Blue Hawaii basackwards? I saw you post something about switching polarity, IIRC.
  19. Thank you soooooo much Alex, and all you Stax Mafioso. That was a nice bit of teamwork there, and I'm very glad we've got some data for everyone to look at. Now, back to the rapper cans .....
  20. Okay ... I really don't know what to say ... except ... in my book ... this is pure genius ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKIS5SaupfI
