So I decided to double check the HD 600 discontinuance as I wasn't sure where I heard it. Good thing, Eric Stubbert, said they're still in the mix, but it had been considered. So the HD600 is still on.

The Exodus is pretty damned good, but it'll have limited long term appeal to an old fart like you. And I agree on the TOTL silver one. The L1 is a good choice.

I got word back from them: "In regards to your review requests, we receive many product inquiries and unfortunately cannot fulfill them all. We appreciate your interest, but are unable to support the request. I’m happy to provide product information and images for these products, or others. Please let me know." I sent them a bit of a huffy response. I told them numerous times that they'd get a favorable review, and they're already up on the Wall of Fame. WTF? I may be PMing you for those QC15s, but I'll wait and see if they answer my second email. Maybe I should get a pair of QC3s to review...cuz they kinda suck.

I think so much shit was thrown around when the fire happened that making too much of a distinction between the 600 and 650 is futile. Also, the 600 is going out of availability, so I really can't worry about them. I've got some 600 carcasses, and I'm keeping them for new pads and cables. That's for sure.

I think the HD 650 gets a bad rap. Maybe I'm not thinking widely enough, but other than the HD800 and LCD3 (when working well), I think it's the best headphone out there. 'Course the latest Thunderpants I've hear might have beat it. Got a pair from his group buy coming in for measure nad listen. Maybe I'll sneak in a review, too.

The 650 seems more refined, but more boring too. The L1 is a little grainy, but the tonal balance is very nice, and they're fun to listen to. I'd say the L1 is a better headphone for general uses, but if you're assembling a good rig, the 650 perform better.
