Wonder what Apple now having a $199 Watch will do to FitBit, etc., competitors?

And another biggie, Robert Frank is dead at 94. “He believed that photojournalism oversimplified the world, mimicking, as he put it, ‘those goddamned stories with a beginning and an end.’”

Should anyone be interested in Noise: A Human History of Sound and Listening by David Hendy, the ebook is on sale for $1.99 at Amazon, Apple, Google, etc.

Coincidentally the below was published recently. I know I’ve said it before, but The Third Man is my favorite movie-movie. https://www.theguardian.com/film/gallery/2019/sep/05/the-third-man-behind-the-scenes-film-noir-in-pictures

As an opposite to the Sigma above, love shooting with the m240, though AF would have certainly produced more keepers here. A couple shots from yesterday paired with the Voigtländer 50 f/1.5 Nokton. Basic edits in Capture One, Technical Pan (which I’m starting to really like) applied in Exposure, then tweaked in Snapseed for mobile. -
More commentary please.

Ha. Just know it’s a plastic camera with a stacked sensor (instead of BAYER RGB like nearly every other color camera), doesn’t work well with Lightroom, Photoshop, or Capture One, and instead of a front grip for human hands has a reverse grip, because why not? So pluses and minuses. -

Labor Day Weekend at Carpinteria, CA is an opportunity for some Sigma dp0/2 Quattro panoramas. Forgot how much I disliked the cameras handling and processing, but love the Foveon output. Also an emu at nearby Ostrichland, Fake Denmark, with the dp2Q processed with a Kodak Technical Pan sim in Alien Skin (recently renamed Exposure). Bonus: Hypno-E with a7III & Voigt 40 f/1.2 E and default C1 sim. -

Different strokes indeed, but for what it’s worth the show (and onscreen team) comes together in episode three, should you ever get the urge to give it another shot.

Somehow Mindhunter’s second season is even better than its great first. For those who haven’t seen yet, don’t judge solely by the pilot (or title). David Fincher’s explorations here are pretty interesting.

I can't remember, who was asking for a professional pinhole zoom lens? https://pinhole-pro-x-18-36mm-pinhole.kckb.st/be1ca706 -
Ha. Finished off the second season of Big Little Lies. In my younger days I would have taken great pleasure in ripping on that awful ending. It probably wasn’t the directors fault.
