If there’s still a Pro coming how much will it and screen cost? More or less than a Tesla 3?

“That leaves Mac Pro for another day.”

Okay, that’s an upgrade. Mac Pro gone?

Wow

Damn! “You're occupants, you're fascists! What the f**k are you doing on our land with all these guns? Take these seeds and put them in your pockets, so at least sunflowers will grow after you die.”

Just watched Winter of Fire (Netflix) about the Euromaidan protests. Man, if you haven't seen, or fully informed, and want a short cut to how hard Ukrainians will fight for a more free life and European alignment, check it out. https://deadline.com/2022/02/ukraine-russian-invasion-winter-on-fire-director-evgeny-afineevsky-inrterview-news-1234961181/

Before things get even worse, enjoy a free, fundraising rebroadcast concert tonight of the great Ukrainian band DakhaBrakha. They’re so good. https://www.sfjazz.org/watch/ (with donation links) or

I keep thinking of the often repeated phrase failure of imagination to predict the 9/11 attacks. Failure of imagination to predict the Trump and Brexit votes. Failure of imagination to predict and prepare for a global pandemic. Failure of imagination to predict the storming of the US Capitol. Even failure of the imagination that Putin would actually invade Ukraine. We’re an optimistic people. That may be an issue.

Hope it's a joyful, carefree day

Good to hear, congrats on Oberon, and happy belated!

Had the first parent visit on school campus since things got bad with the pandemic today. Saw the classrooms, met some teachers in-person, etc. Good to see Esmé is paying attention in music class.* * BTW, Adopt Me is a favorite game, though I guess it could be a cry for help.

If anyone is a fan of Jon Ronson (Them: Adventures with Extremists, The Men Who Stare at Goats, The Psychopath Test: A Journey Through the Madness Industry), he's got a pretty interesting, compassionate, easy-to-digest BBC4 podcast, called Things Fell Apart, about specific origins in the Culture Wars. I'm sure everyone will have a different favorite, but the collision of second wave feminism with third wave might be mine. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/things-fell-apart/id1592984136?i=1000540367923 https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0011cpr/episodes/player A sample segment of one episode...
