Legitimate question, but I’m not sure that would save his country.

Cool. No need to worry. "The International Atomic Energy Agency said on Wednesday that there was no need for immediate alarm over a loss of power at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, but left clear that the situation around the site of the world’s largest nuclear power disaster was deteriorating. The United Nations agency said on Twitter that the plant, which has been occupied by Russian troops since the early days of the invasion, had suffered a loss of power that violated a “key safety pillar” for the site of the 1986 leak. But the agency added that it saw “no critical impact on safety” at this time because the amount of water in cooling ponds and around radioactive waste was sufficient, even without continuous power to the plant." https://www.nytimes.com/live/2022/03/09/world/ukraine-russia-war/chernobyl-power-outage-nuclear-plant

I kinda wish to further punish Russia instead of withdrawing from the country completely Coca-Cola would send all the Starlight space flavored soda there.

Damn! “You're occupants, you're fascists! What the f**k are you doing on our land with all these guns? Take these seeds and put them in your pockets, so at least sunflowers will grow after you die.”

Just watched Winter of Fire (Netflix) about the Euromaidan protests. Man, if you haven't seen, or fully informed, and want a short cut to how hard Ukrainians will fight for a more free life and European alignment, check it out. https://deadline.com/2022/02/ukraine-russian-invasion-winter-on-fire-director-evgeny-afineevsky-inrterview-news-1234961181/

I keep thinking of the often repeated phrase failure of imagination to predict the 9/11 attacks. Failure of imagination to predict the Trump and Brexit votes. Failure of imagination to predict and prepare for a global pandemic. Failure of imagination to predict the storming of the US Capitol. Even failure of the imagination that Putin would actually invade Ukraine. We’re an optimistic people. That may be an issue.

Take it at face value. Big announcement Tim Apple is being replaced by a holographic, more diverse and musically talented Steve Jobs 2.0 AI. The "one more thing" is the singularity is reached and our deaths follow as a band plays us out.

Hope it's a joyful, carefree day

Had the first parent visit on school campus since things got bad with the pandemic today. Saw the classrooms, met some teachers in-person, etc. Good to see Esmé is paying attention in music class.* * BTW, Adopt Me is a favorite game, though I guess it could be a cry for help.

If anyone is a fan of Jon Ronson (Them: Adventures with Extremists, The Men Who Stare at Goats, The Psychopath Test: A Journey Through the Madness Industry), he's got a pretty interesting, compassionate, easy-to-digest BBC4 podcast, called Things Fell Apart, about specific origins in the Culture Wars. I'm sure everyone will have a different favorite, but the collision of second wave feminism with third wave might be mine. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/things-fell-apart/id1592984136?i=1000540367923 https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0011cpr/episodes/player A sample segment of one episode...
