I might be missing something, but why wouldn't it be in the discussion? BR will also die, and may in fact might (maybe likely) before DVD depending on how quickly downloads ramp up. Add to the content question (films just getting to DVD, that may never to BR), prices, collectors (as most content needs to be relicensed, there will be video extras, booklets, etc. that change/are eliminated in future releases and there's a movement to collect current versions), and most people likely not replacing titles they already own, DVDs are going nowhere soon. In fact a cleaned-up Criterion DVD could conceivably be a superior experience than a Fox Blu-ray. How is this different than redbook discussions of SACD/DVD-A players (and we know how that turned out)?

Everyone I came across at CJ that heard the AMP3 was very impressed by its SQ. Especially at its price. I certainly was and almost picked one up. Even goofily connected a pair of HD800s straight to them and it did pretty well. The biggest problem, that would have drove me crazy, was a seemingly very early, quirky OS/navigational system. Think a couple steps behind the first gen MobiBlu. There was talk of the next version being "much better." Has this matured?

Now that some time has passed, anyone have more SACD playback impressions?

The amount of power with the HD800s was not an issue from my experience, though sounds like it was for the LCD-1. Did you get a chance to give your HD800s a listen too? I suspect as we both like the Platinum sound more, we wanted increased impact (though earlier meant 'flat' as even, not boring - though obviously less engaging then we're both used to). However I'm not sure that's because of lack of power by the DNA. From my previous experiences and generalizing, blindfolded I'd probably have thought the DNA was a controlled SS amp. Not my preference when going tubes (and with the HD800), and certainly far from the Extreme Platinum with either of our tube combos. Interesting another member (forget name) told me at the meet how much the DNA and SPs sounded similar. I have to admit not being a fan of Beyers, and like JP mentioned on the other site, it would have been interesting to hear the DNA with a HD580/6X0.

Interesting comments on the DNA, as with the HD800s, I found it flatter/even than your experience. Especially if compared to my Extreme Platinum. Did you get a chance to compare the Lambda Sigs to the 4070 out of the WES? I missed this time, but always curious of others opinions of these relatively similar sounding 'stats (and more welcome etch than the mellow O2s).
