I'm not sure I've seen a site handle a sale so strangely. They've now reposted the sale under the title "June Blowout '09," but with the first sentence "Unfortunately, this sale had to be discontinued on Friday, June 12. The titles are still listed below at their regular price." Which they are, though most still drop to $5.98 if added to cart. I wonder what the motivation was to repost a sale days after being removed, just to announce it's over, but not correct the pricing. EDIT: Well, I just gave them a call. All my four orders are ready to 'pick & ship.' I couldn't get a definitive answer if all orders out there are going through, but it doesn't sound like they are planning on canceling many/any. Which of course brings up the question of what happens if you order today? You may still have a shot.

Yeah, sorry, it's my bad. I knew the Pico DAC+amp maxed out at 16/48 input and thought the Pico DAC only was being programmed to accept 24/96, but that's hardware upsampled (and maybe the DAC+amp was also), as you said. Sorry for the confusion.

I thought the DAC only was upsampling beyond the DAC+amp. So at least the programming would be different, no?

While I didn't hear them side-by-side, I thought the PS1Ks had less bass bloat on most equipment than the PS1s (or GS1Ks for that matter). I'm in the PS1Ks are a midrange-fixed GS1Ks camp. Course that's assuming you found something attractive about the GS1Ks in the first place, which doesn't seem to be the case for many. And I'm still waiting for the HF2s to arrive, but from my time at CJ, and comparing on both Todds amps against the RS1 as I mentioned above, I didn't find them as balanced as some of you. Then again many of you have spent more time with them, I'm not sure the burn-in time on each phone and I really only spent significant time on the two amps. Still looking forward to them though.

Most of my friends left eMusic 7ish years ago when they were bought out and changed their pricing structure away from unlimited downloads. Their membership numbers though significantly grew as they added labels. Greater selection with higher price won out. Seems about the same move here.
