Thanks guys for the input. Yes, time of use before graduating and how much we want to spend on that time (if she even likes the bike - great point) is certainly big questions we're trying to weigh. I'm not 100% behind this balanced bike thing to begin with, but running around Craigslist it seems some models keep their value well. Plus we're not considering the $1900 Mores models so everything else is cheap-ish-er!
Came across http://www.twowheelingtots.com/ which was our primary guide. Anyone else looking may want to start there. The line about toilet training during this period and hosing down wood v. composite v. metal started the considering of the above FirstBike. Will likely order tomorrow, so if anyone else has a comment please pipe in.
Not sure if this is the right thread, but anyone have any positive/negative experiences with specific balance bikes? After a few days research (closed bearings, steering limiter, room to grow) we're eyeing the FirstBike Cross, but certainly open to suggestions.

EDIT: Check out this guys thoughts and earlier ones.
Also while over at Music Direct, they have the MARANTZ - NA7004 NETWORK ENABLED DAC 50% off for $399. http://www.musicdirect.com/p-45607-marantz-na7004-network-enabled-dac.aspx?source=igodigital&
I suspect you're right. They're also pushing for their final stretch goal in every correspondence, so refunding and moving the total back would cause secondary problems. Also in case the hidden sale wasn't made public already...

And just a reminder we're talking seven months wait... if they hit their target date.
Interestingly, the limited sale has gone from 100 units only, to 125, to at least the SE version 150, in the last 12 hours. Reportedly (over on their forums) a lot of people didn't follow directions, so maybe 150 will mean 100 after the cancellations.
