With Pebble Time announced last week, MWC going on this one and the Apple event next week, figured it's time to checkout the state of smartwatches (over activity trackers of which I've turned into a fan). So yesterday setup and played with a LG G watch that was given in December. Hardware certainly bulky (and out of the eight I know who also received one, none wear on a consistent basis), but it'll do to see the status of Android Wear. Will give it a week. Anyone else using an Android Wear watch daily? Grahame, you have a 360, right?

That sucks. It's happened to me also. _________________________ Better Call Saul pilot. Fun to reenter this world.

Anyone have WeTV (not to be confused with MeTV) and catch Sex Box last night? Looks/sounds ridiculous. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/02/27/inside-the-racy-sex-box-a-reality-show-where-couples-have-sex-in-a-box.html?via=twitter_page http://youtu.be/fV3gTHDTXc0

Good piece - Remembering Leonard Nimoy’s Mr. Spock, One of History’s Greatest TV Characters http://www.vulture.com/2015/02/remembering-leonard-nimoys-mr-spock.html?mid=twitter_nymag "The show's affinity for Shakespearean flourishes is well-documented, but in in a sense, Spock himself might be the most Bard-like character of them all: He's a green-blooded Othello who has to be twice as good as the full-blooded human officers to earn their respect, and who must tamp down his natural passions despite constant racist needling and doubts about his loyalty."

Yep and thanks for the suggestion.

Yutaka Katayama, Father of the Datsun/Nissan ‘Z,’ Dies at 105 http://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/25/business/yutaka-katayama-father-of-the-datsun-z-dies-at-105.html?mwrsm=Email "Perhaps the greatest boost Mr. Katayama gave the 240Z was its very name, which Nissan had intended only as a working model number. In the late 1960s, when the car was first introduced in Japan, a Nissan executive, enamored of a certain Lerner and Loewe musical, named it the Fairlady Z. When the first shipment of Fairlady Zs arrived in the United States, Mr. Katayama, judging the sobriquet horrifyingly effete for the American market, stripped the nameplate off each car with his own hands."

Checking out Wussy. "In which the best band in America remains the best song band in America while passing the Sonic Youth consortium on the outside to become the best distorto-guitar band in America, and although the competition in both categories has thinned out, how many ever dared combine it? Television? Nirvana? The Thompson Couple? That is the territory here. What once seemed the overkill of replacing minimalist Dawn Burman with muscleman Joe Klug opened a thruway to the big beat. What once seemed the neighborly gesture of taking in Ass Ponys steel hand John Erhardt powered sonic dimensions arena-rock dumbos risk tinnitus to achieve with Marshall stacks. The lyrics mix heroic feats of individual transcendence with a romantic striving vexed equally by economics and psychology as the melodies flow on unabated. Gender parity also guaranteed. A PLUS" - R. Christgau

Happy Prostate Exam.

"... Reed's anger only proved that Christgau's grades did matter: He's not a part of the industry, he's not currying anybody's favor, and he's disdainful of hype. When it comes down to it, who do you trust to tell you the truth about a new album? The label? The artist? Or the cranky dude who has made it his mission to be purely, aggressively honest about everything he's ever listened to for almost half a century?" http://theconcourse.deadspin.com/almost-famous-the-b-adventures-of-robert-christgau-1687452336
