Hence why I said there might be... haven't had a chance to see for myself. As for the other half of your statement, I didn't get to try the K701 at the South FL meet with this amp. Then again, I haven't really tried any AKG's to begin with.

Well, I have both the HD580 and the HD600 when it comes to Senns. I was thinking of investing in an HD650, selling off the 580's to fund for that. Or, I could start saving and go for the big one... but I'm not planning on getting that anytime soon. The reason why I still have the 580 along with the 600 was to test out having multiple cans plugged in and the effect on sound quality, if any. Plus, it is nice to share music listening with someone else who is visiting, so I like similar cans for that, not mismatched like, say, a Senn and a Grado plugged in same time. Vicky, If you happen to get the HD800's anytime soon, I'd be willing to lend you the P1 a while. Heck, I'd be willing to lend it to you a month or two after I have enjoyed it a bit, even if you don't get the HD800, just so you can do some better testing with it and the R10's at home. The more reviews we can get on this thing with different gear the better. I think I heard someone say the Grado R1's sounded very nice with it paired with Mike's vinyl rig at the meet, so there might be synergy with the Grado line as well...

It looks so tasty...

If someone in FL buys the overseas version, then we can have a meet and compare the two (yes, I bought one... probably an amp way out of my league, but when Todd said there was only one left, beside the loaner one, I had to spring into action. I am a sucker for collector's items). Todd shipped mine out Monday last week. So l have yet to hear it. As far as amps go, my first amp was a Go-Vibe (version 5). I then jumped to the SP Extreme, which I am keeping, and now the Luxman. I think I'm done with amps for a very long while.

Yeah, it was very expensive. Also, I didn't know the overseas counterpart was about a grand less... that is a very big difference, even taking into account the fact that TTVJ has to make some money on the import as well.

Believe me, I've seen much much worse not cause a ruckus, so what I said was very safe. -

yea, I guess that pretty much sums it up. -
TRUE STORY (HAPPENED LAST WEEK'S FRIDAY AT WORK). : "Alright guys, see ya around, and enjoy your lunch!" I picked up after myself, heading out the door with my carry-on lunch bag. My colleagues waved good-byes. As I opened the door, I saw her figure a few feet in front of me: Christina was walking down the hall. Christina is an unmistakable young little beauty. She is one of those women you simply just look at and do not want to touch in fear that when you do, she will forever vanish in a puff of smoke, leaving you wondering why the gods played such cruel jokes on us mortals. But this was no vision: there she was, walking down the corridor towards her cubicle. What a sight! I must admit I always had a crush on her, but had never pursued her for one simple fact: not in her league. This is not to say that I have low self-esteem. Oh no, far from that! Ask my friends, and all will say I walk the fine line between self-assured and conceited. But, as Clint Eastwood said in a Dirty Harry movie: "A man's got to know his limitations." At least, I think it was a Clint flick... anyhow, she was that limit. Had it been any other day, I would have discarded any attempt as futile. But that day I felt different. Perhaps the stars were aligned just right, or the full stomach made me feel extra comfortable, but the fact was all I could think of was that I needed to say something. Anything! As I saw her short shoulder-length hair happily bouncing up and down with every mesmerizing step she took, as her hips slightly swayed from side to side in an ever-so-teasing way, I blurted out: "wow, who is THAT?" I instantly thought to myself "Alex, you idiot, what kind of a stupid line is that... geez" But she turned around... ...and smiled. Yet I wasn't smiling. Oh no. I literally dropped my carry-on lunch bag on the floor. My eyes widened in surprise. My feet cranked to a sudden stop and failed to respond to any mental commands. My vocal chords ceased to produce anything audible. She turned away from me and kept on walking. "That was cute." She coyly remarked as she made a left turn towards the elevator. "I'm sure my daughter would have thought so too." I heard the elevator doors open with a light "ding!" A few seconds later, she was gone. I am sure that somewhere, the gods laughed. THE END.

Well, I've had the MS2i for quite a while, but received the used RS1 the very day of the meet (I went to the post office to pick it up; literally opened it in the showroom), so I don't have much experience to draw any conclusions. This week I listened to the RS1 for two hour tops, but will do more listening this weekend. The RS1 is my first pure Grado. Prior to that (and the MS2i), I had the MS1. Everyone knows the Alessandros are a bit more neutral than the Grados, but i've never tested this for myself.

Agile_one, any particular reason why you are discarding the GS1000 as an option? Is it the price, or have you heard them before and didn't like them? NOTE: to those who dont know me, I am 1117 on that other forum. Name's Alex.

The UD10 was mine. So much of my gear went unused because no one knew who it belonged to. At the next meet I'm going to label everything with "Yes, you may use this, just handle carefully." I honestly thought no one was interested in trying the RS1 or MS2i on different gear.

Yes, the above resembles what I had in mind. I was crunching up some numbers and it seems going the DIY is never cheaper than the eeepc or dell or HP. Even when I get close price-wise, I am still missing a monitor. To be honest, I've always wanted to build a "music pc" inside a mini jukebox, like this one, with a small display somewhere in there: Of course, the rest of the rig would have to match the look physically as well -

I am currently in the market for a netbook as well, to serve as my "pc-based" rig. I prefer the idea of fanless... EDIT: Building one's own mini-pc (not necessarily a netbook, just something small-form-factor) wouldn't be more cost-efficient, would it?
