Happy birthday! ... sorry, the store messed up your name.
-
I can't go due to too many recent expenses.
-
A 5.0 was felt near LAX today. Anyone cancelling their trip?
-
This is a real caterpillar. I kid you not.
-
Some of those heads would make interesting headphone stands.
-
It also happens to be old-school challenging. This isn't today's stroll-in-the-park game.

I just noticed the bird is flipping the bird. And only 50 made... talk about limited!

Anyone know what type of pads these will ship with? I might have to order some flats just in case. I already have one pair of flats, but I already use them heavily, and switching them between Grado cans is starting to annoy me.

So I finally received an SR007 with a SRM007TA amp. I do not know which ones of you were present during a chat session some weeks ago, in which a head-caser asked opinions on obtaining certain dynamic cans (I forget which) and another fellow responded "fuck dynamics make Stax your bitch." I even think I've seen that quote in someone's sig... Anyhow, after giving some quick listens to the Stax system (I know, I know, kinda jumped into the deeper end of the pool foolishly, but at a little over $2k, I couldn't pass up the deal), I have concluded that whoever said that quote was wrong. Waaaaay wrong. I set out to see if I could make Stax my bitch. It saddens me to report that I was not able to accomplish this task, as Stax has made me its bitch instead.

Somewhat off topic, but how do you married folk do it, seriously. I can't see myself convincing a future wife to let me spend over $400 in headphones when I think paying over $200 for a purse is stupid. I need to start taking notes now.

Do you put serial #'s on your creations?
-
Dammit I placed an order. I requested serial #117. Hopefully it is still available. Serial #1117 would be nicer, but I don't know if that many will be produced... 1117 is my head-fi handle, btw.
-
Wait, so let me see if I have this right: John is still working on shipping out the PS1000's, as reserved orders still haven't been shipped. Clients are anxiously awating their orders... and Grado decides to start manufacturing another line of headphones while the one that should already be available to the market (as was promised months ago) is still in the shop? So can I safely assume that Sennheiser will announce the Jubilee version of the HD800 at CanJam?

And I just literally bougth some HF-1's a couple weeks back for around that price mark. why the hell do you people do this to me, seriously? I even invested in a pair of Stax SR007's, and I never even heard a Stax before. I think I will take a break from theforums. I wonder if anyone has ever asked for a voluntary ban before...
-
Well, if the whole name inscription was true, my headphones wouldn't be THAT customized from my head-fi handle: "1117." I would just have to ensure mine has that serial number as well for perfect match.

I can get a pretty good deal on an SRM7ta, but it is 100 volt, and I live in the USA. What transformer would you recommend for the job?
-
I have seen his prototype, people. Radical new technogly uses an inner gyroscope. To turn the volume, you simply tilt the amp left or right to lower or raise the volume accordingly.
-
I'm sure people will continue to have their fun, but I just want to state something very clearly: I DO NOT wish to see head-casers selling these in the FS forums... ...eww.

As of late (and by late I mean the past year in its entirety), I have been radically drifting away from the current rock hits to the older stuff, the classic rock, as well as a lot of old Spanish music (Julio Iglesias in his younger days, for example). Though I still enjoy an occasional listen of the current stuff, I find the older stuff (made around the 70's and 80's) much more intriguing. Whether to attribute this to me getting older and thus requiring a more mature listening, or that the new stuff just doesn't seem as inspired/complex/imaginative/clever/etc as the old stuff, I cannot say. What I do know is that music I formerly considered "old people stuff" has surprisingly become refreshing and, well, VERY good. However, I couldn't appreciate this before... until I gave them a listen on mid-fi equipment. I now realize just how well recording used to be and why the current discussions concerning hot recordings/remasters take place. Perhaps I have just outgrown the banal commercialized music that the media tries to forcefully shove down my ear canal, saying "buy this! it is what all the cool kids are listening to!" Perhaps I am just in need of something different. All I know is, the old stuff seems new now. And I like it.

Are these audiophile earplugs...

How come I hardly hear of anyone using the actual Stax amps? Are they bad? I was considering O2 + srm007ta combo.
