Well, while on topic, I do have one observation: it seems that these limited HF Grados (both the HF1 and now the HF2) are better than their Grado counterparts within same price range. Is this done on purpose? Kind of like a favor to the community as a bang-for-buck deal? Or is it simply coincidence that their sound is appreciated more than the regular lineup?

I guess my super soaker will have to do.

Hello, I just realized I am lending my Aero DAC to Mike.. ... and he has a gun. Help please. Edit: I will also accept any cans of maze.

I would really appreciate it if someone took one of Justin's e-stat amps.

Listen to the HF-2 first before trying to find out what amp to get for it. Just a thought. If you will mostly be using a netbook, I would go for a pico amp/dac and stick with that rig for a while, given your budget. While I don't have one myself, I auditioned it quite a bit on a meet with my MS2 and RS1 and liked what I heard. EDIT: beat to the punch

My younger brother told me about some special marketing price for the upgrade versions only, don't know if any of you are interested. It's only when you pre-order though (excerpt follows): Preorder Windows 7 cheaply In select markets, Microsoft is offering its customers the ability to preorder Windows 7 upgrade versions at a significantly reduced price. This is easily the most aggressive pricing Microsoft has ever offered for Windows. The low preorder price will vary per country: [*]US: Windows 7 Home Premium ($49.99) and Windows 7 Professional ($99.99) [*]Canada: Windows 7 Home Premium ($64.99) and Windows 7 Professional ($124.99) [*]Japan: Windows 7 Home Premium ( -
I still can't beat sacred grounds. I get hurt too much getting to the 1st boss (the press cyclops thing).

I think cables are highly affected by the headphone they are attached to. A headphone can make a cable sound bright or dark. I always buy my cable and try it with stock cans first. Then I roll headphones to see which one is best... ... ...am I doing this right?

Yes, these are for sale: Rocky III USB drives sadly missing Burgess Meredith version

I've been too busy this weekend with family activities to finish setting up the rig. Hopefully I will get a chance this week. -

If I could only come across a garage sale with NOS stuff... I can dream, can't I? -
Very interesting indeed. What about a head-case logo one, but inverted, meaning that the logo is actually the cut-out part.

I will bring Porky flu. Just kidding, coast is clear here at work.

By the way, if I go, I need not sleep over. I live fairly close, so if I was being counted in any "room space", I don't think it necessary.

Dammit I'm trying to find that post where Elephas said "Oh, I am tired. I will give my spot to Alex." Did anyone see it?
-
Well, no problem if this becomes a no-go. However, I do want to have one more meet before year's end.
-
Elephas, If you decide to not hang in there anymore for whatever reason, please consider selling. I'd take it. Reading the waiting time is mixed feelings for me. It is good because it provides plenty of time to get the rest of the funds. It is bad (but worth it) because it means I'd be stuck with whatever amp I have right now for a long time before that arrives. EDIT: I am not on the waiting list, btw. Regardless, I am a patient guy and would wait for it.

Bye Mike! Nice knowing you. Also, I still think cheesecake is more akin to pies than cake. But what do I know? I'm just the 300-pound gorilla in the room. There used to be a thread at that videogame site dedicated to all things pie. It was an amazing thread. Alas, it was closed because of cake vs pie fights.

On the topic of "thinking": I've always wondered how, for example, if I died, any of my "online only" friends would find out. There is another forum I visit where I have never physically met anyone (few there have). It is a close group with video-gaming as the main interest, but it is more of a "chill" place than videogames, really. I suppose that some here would have ways of finding out what happened to a member that suddenly vanished but, for the most part, there are many that can vanish and none would know what happened to that person. I guess the returns to serve its original purpose.

I was also considering the old Phonomena I. However, according to reviews I've read, the II is supposed to be an improvement over the original, circuit-wise (not to mention that I got it because it is cheaper, though I saw a Phonomena-1 selling for around $600 on Audiogon some days ago). However, the original did run off battery power, whereas the II runs of AC. Theoretically, the original should be "blacker." Theoretically... -
Ouch! For both sides too...
