If I am not mistaken, this is the same case from pre-CanJam: 1 Sale A Day, Daily Deal

She's pretty cute (more on the cute side than hot). But to put things in perspective, she goes through clothes faster than Mike sells gear. This is not hyperbole. This is proven by science.

I have no pics of her. Besides, even though she is cute, she's super high maintenance. Emphasis on super. Well beyond my means... =(

A girl from work saw me reading this thread during lunch time, and asked "why do you visit that forum so often?" I explained to her my whole obsession with headphones. She approved as she said she shares the same guilt with fashion. Anyhow, she then proceeded to ask me what specific thread I was reading, and I mentioned all things and comments about the JH13. "Are you getting them?" She asked. "No. Not yet at least. My gut feeling tells me to hold off till I get a new amp, then get these." "Hmmm. And everyone says they are better than everything else out there?" She asked again. "Pretty much, yes." "Hmmm..." she looked at me. "What is it?" I asked. "From my experience, I think you need a new gut." =/

Grado SR-60i vs. SR-80i whats the real diff, worth it?
screaming oranges replied to phishhead92's topic in Headphones
The MS-1 were my gateway drug to this hobby. I sold mine not too long ago and, though I have gone the deep end now, if I had to choose a low-end can, it'd definitely be the MS-1. This coming from a Grado whore, by the way. -
WTF: Headamp Aristaeus - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio

I am enjoying the HD800. I think I expected too much from them though. This is not to say I don't like them, but that I was expecting a different type of sound signature, and this is not it. Don't ask me what type of sound signature I was looking for, I just expected something that would make me go "whoa!" But these are keepers. One thign I have noticed though, is that I do get some sibilance on certain recordings that I never got before.

Unfortunately, the Bloom I bought just doesnt work well with the SME, so no comparisons. I havent tested the phonos yet. I know I will sell the 640P though, not because it sounds worse, but because it will be an easier sell than the Phonomena II. Besides, the Phonomena has so many variables that I intend on keeping it anyway. I will still do a comparison soon though. -
I just realized I typed "wedding" when I meant "wetting" problem.

^As long as the kid on top bunk doesn't have a wedding problem, that works! Also, I just put a down payment on a BHSE.

the NEW Zana Deux, ZDT and Balancing Act thread
screaming oranges replied to oatmeal769's topic in Headphone Amplification
My purchases are always a gamble in the sense that I hardly ever notice improvements with sources/amps upon first listen. It takes me two weeks of dedicated listening to a new source/amp, and then when I switch back I hear the difference. But I can never do it right away (note: when I say "new" I do not mean new in the sense of me being 1st owner, but in the sense of new to me. 90% of my stuff is secondhand.). It happens the same with headphones. Only when I go back and downgrade (or sidegrade) do I tell the difference, never right away when moving up. -
Hahaha! I've always liked the punchline at the end of that one!

(wonders if anyone has yet profited off of audiophile-grade ear-cleaning solutions... thinks about patenting brand-name "Sonar Solutions")

Can a mod ban me only from this thread and not the rest of the site? I can't bear to keep reading anymore, but curiosity gets the best of me. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak... ... nope, there goes spirit too.

When you owners keep talking about how great these are, do you speak of their greatness within their IEM category, or just "headphones" overall? Because if it is for the headphone category in general... daaayum.

This is actually how I have my Platinum Extreme set up right now, and it is the best combination I have ever heard with it: Two 5998's with a Russian 1578 (a 6sn7 tube). Sadly, only Dusty decided to give the Russian 1578s a listen on my loaner program. Here is what he had to say of them: http://www.head-case.org/forums/242482-post19.html EDIT: OOPS! You wanted an affordable solution. Scratch the 1578 then. You won't find one for less than a hundred, even if you find one at all, as they are extremely rare. If you are that curious, I can loan them out to you to try, with condition being that you post impressions. You'd have to pay shipping returning them, though (I'd pay shipping fwd to gladly lend them to you. Such tube goodness!) I happen to have five of these right now (yes, I bought all I could at the time after I spent time with the 1st one I bought from the seller "greentulip" on eBay). Come to think of it, would these Russians be compatible with Woo's WES? They aren't 6sl7, I know, but I think the only difference between 6sn7 and 6sl7 was the gain (I am still very unfamiliar with tube designation and topology). If yes, I have four that I'd like to try with it! Dammit I better start selling gear to save up for that amp.

Sonic Studio 302 (aka Metric Halo ULN-2)

No Windows support? Dah! This killed it for me. -
Wait, what? Today isn't Thursday. This is witchcraft!

Edwood, your design came out very well! Very well-defined, and perfect size. Vicky, if your gun-kitty was done by the same people as the ones who did Edwood's, it would look kickass!
